• And You Thought It Would Fail: Many were sceptical that the long-awaited revival would be a success. It procedeed to win several awards.
• Awesome Music: The Season Two opener is usually considered the best. Or Mark Knopfler's closing theme to the 2002 season. Although really, any of Joe Fagin's four vocal tracks from the first two seasons could easily qualify.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Herr Ulrich from Series 1 is played by Peter Birch, who would later be best known for playing Jack Hathaway in CASUAL+Y.
  • Hazel Redfern from Series 2 is played by Melanie Hill, who would later be best known for playing the second Aveline Boswell in Bread (1986).
  • Carol Pringle from "Another Country" is played by Catherine Rabett, who would later be best known for playing Cissy Meldrum in You Rang, M'Lord?.
  • Ray Clegg from "Hasta La Vista" is played by Mike Burns, who would go on to play Colin Weatherby in The Brittas Empire.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: In season three, the scene where the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge is dismantled was so realistic that many people believed it was really being removed, forcing The BBC to add a caption to the final episode reassuring them that it was still there. Middlesbrough Council also issued a press release stating that the bridge remained in situ.
