YMMV / Assetto Corsa

  • Contested Sequel: Contested Spin-Off, in this case; Assetto Corsa Competizione is often given a So Okay, It's Average look by both reviewers (which sees it as a run-out-of-the-mill simracing) and fans (which sees limited modding support apart from custom livery). There is also a camp (mostly e-sports players) who enjoy the game for being a competition-focused game.
  • Fandom Rivalry: With simulation-based racing games such as Gran Turismo, Project Cars, iRacing and so on.
    • Assetto Corsa Competizione tends to trade blows with Gran Turismo Sport as both games are sanctioned by official motorsport bodies (The FIA for GT Sport and the Blancpain GT Series for ACC) and have a clear focus on online multiplayer racing with GT3 race cars.
  • Friendly Fandoms: Fans of sim-lite and arcade racing games, such as OutRun, Forza, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune often sometimes like the game as well to have more racing content and customizability for the former, or to recreate the game in PC or at home for the latter.
    • Many of Initial D fans are also into the game. This is justified with a sizeable number of mods of touge tracks that appear in the Shuichi Shigeno series. Many Assetto Corsa players have also been recreating battles depicted in Initial D.
    • If you're into the game's drifting scene, the chance is you encounter some players having background from other racing sim series such as Forza,Gran Turismo, and Live For Speed.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: The game is well known for open access to Game Mods. Their career mode, however, is bland.
  • Spiritual Adaptation: Due to its intended open accessibility to modding, one can see Assetto Corsa as this to TORCS.
