- Awesome Ego: A large part of his appeal is based on simply being cool, and he damn well knows it.
- Creator Backlash: He expressed dislike for "Fuckin' Problems" and "Wild For The Night" in an interview with MTV News, dismissing them as songs he made to prove he could have a big mainstream hit.
- Critical Dissonance: Music critics often still point to LIVE.LOVE.A$AP as being his best work, while fans tend to hold AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP in higher esteem.
- Fandom Rivalry: With SpaceGhostPurrp. Rocky and Purrp worked closely during the creation of LIVE.LOVE.A$AP but had a falling out soon afterward, with Purrp claiming that Rocky was copying his style and Rocky claiming that Purrp was "crazy" and "racist." Fans took sides and followed suit.
- Many Aesop Rock fans aren't thrilled with people who think they're talking about A$AP Rocky due to the similarity of their names. This is mostly a one-sided rivalry, minus certain A$AP Rocky fans who pretend to mix the two up purposely.
- Tough Act to Follow:
- None of his singles since "Fuckin' Problems" have entered the Billboard Top 40.
- Testing is so far his worst-received album (67 on Metacritic to 75 and 76 for his previous efforts) and his lowest charting (#4 to #1 on both).
- His best-received bar is widely considered his "ABCDEFG" line on "Pe$o," his SECOND single.
