- Funny Moments: Holly, as administrator of the local Fleet project and the closest thing to a government figure, must preside over the christening of the first child born to Earth-native parents on the planet Sanction. This is done to recognize her as a child of Earth. All so the father can be sure that his little girl is as Texan as he is.
- Adding to the humor, they have to explain to Holly's partner and girlfriend Lya that Texas is actually a place on Earth. From the way the dad talked, she assumed it was an entire planet.
- Narm: One cover has a space marine about to smash off an ant's head with the butt of his blazer rifle. The bug, for its part, looks more like it's trying to buy something from him.
