YMMV / Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters

• Ass Pull: Pretty much every single plot twist in the movie comes out of nowhere and has little bearing on the plot (or what little there is of one). Much like the show itself, the entire point of it is to deliberately make as little sense as possible.
• Awesome Music:
  • "Cut You Up With a Linoleum Knife". Never has theater etiquette sounded so badass.
  • Carl's Theme by Nine Pound Hammer.
• Critical Dissonance: Critics unfamiliar with the series panned the movie, but fan response was much better.
• Funny Moments:
  • The Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future begins harassing the Plutonians about the Insanoflex as they attempt to ghost the call they're getting from Frylock about how to assemble one. He tells a long intricate tale about how it's technology that could improve or destroy the world, but eventually gets caught up in his usual inane ramblings until even he can't ignore the elephant in the room.
  The Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future: You'll set it up, but it will take you over a week... and you'll keep telling yourself "I should hop on that and use it"... because these slacks no longer fit righ- You have got to answer that fucking phone, it's driving me nuts!
  Oglethrope: Let the machine get it.
  • Eventually after revealing that he stole an important screw to ensure the Insanoflex is never fully assembled, the Plutonians are the ones to point out the obvious flaw with his plan.
  Emory: So can't they just go... buy a screw or something?"

• Overshadowed by Controversy: The movie will always be more remembered for its Viral Marketing campaign that caused the Boston Mooninite panic, as well as being indirectly responsible for Cartoon Network's perceived Network Decay in subsequent years ^note After the Bomb Scare, then-CEO of CN Jim Samples stepped down from his position in light of backlash. He was then replaced by Stuart Snyder, who pushed out many of the network's animated series in favor of live-action series in a misguided attempt at competing with Disney Channel and Nickelodeon more. Snyder himself was later replaced by Christina Miller, who received widespread criticism from many longtime CN fans due to her questionable executive decisions that included seemingly prioritizing Teen Titans Go! reruns in the network's scheduling above all else, accusations of enforcing the Animation Age Ghetto by placing emphasis on more Lighter and Softer works, and apparently favoring domestic cartoonists over creators from outside of CN..
• Shocking Moments: Shake shooting Meatwad point blank in the climax and actually killing him stands out as being especially uncalled for.
• Signature Scene: The opening scene with Mastodon.
