- Friendly Fandoms: With The Dover Boys, due to several characters being Expies of characters from that short (Danton is based of Dan Backslide, and Brulo is based on the bartender). Thus, the two are a surprisingly Common Crossover.
- Game-Breaker: Large characters like Don make Antonball mode a lot easier due to their bigger hitboxes.
- Small characters are this in Punchball mode, as their smaller hitboxes allows them to get hit less easy.
- Low-Tier Letdown: Small-sized characters like Micro Demon are not ideal to play as in Antonball mode, due to their smaller hitboxes.
- Large characters, though Game Breakers in Antonball mode, get the short end of the stick in Punchball mode, as their large hitboxes allow them to get hit by enemies easier.
- Nothing is definitely an intentional example, as their invisibility turns the game from fairly difficult, to nigh-impossible.
- Most Wonderful Sound: Anton's laugh that plays when you get the shotgun power-up, or get a high enough combo while playing as Anton.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- The song 'Bear It All', that can be found in the rec room, is a creepy, ambient song that sounds like the first section of Giygas' theme from Earthbound 1994. The cover art (A pixelized stock image of a swimming bear with text saying 'Bear It All') doesn't help. To make matters worse, this song played in the hub world of the SAGE 2020 Demo.
- Antari's portrait in the character selection screen.
- Polished Port: The Switch version adds portable play, alongside having all the DLC included with the game for free.
- Popular with Furries: A lot of the playable characters are animals, both normal and anthropomorphic. So this is a given. Don and Cooper stand out, as they're muscular and some of the largest characters in the game.
- Scrappy Mechanic: If you play Antonball cooperative, the moment either of you die from hazards, everyone else dies with you. This can be frustrating if you're playing with somebody who's particularly bad at the game, and can make four-player games extremely chaotic.
- Self-Imposed Challenge: Playing as Nothing makes the game nigh-impossible due to them being invisible.
- Suspiciously Similar Song: "Going Home", the theme of Boiler City, has a similar rockabilly sound to "Be Cool, Be Wild, and Be Groovy" from Sonic Adventure. This is further called attention to in Tony Grayson's remix of the song, "ANTON ADVENTURE...for Boiler City", which adds guitar and horn sections to better match its inspiration.
- Ugly Cute: Micro Demon is a visceral-looking tiny demon. But at the exact same time, he's also an adorable goofy-looking fella.
