YMMV / Anime House

  • Angst? What Angst?: Neither Ben nor Saitama seem too concerned about the fact that Majin Vegeta beat the shit out of Goku in the fourth episode, with the latter arriving just to fight Ben who was Alien X at the time as Vegeta was fighting Goku. Though one could assume Ben was about to run forward to help Goku, he was pretty easily distracted by Saitama's challenge to fight him.
  • Catharsis Factor:
    • With the series' self-aware nature and various honest Take Thats towards various anime and their issues, there are plenty of viewers who take a good lot of joy from some of the roasts. For instance, with Naruto, Deku, Asta, and Tanjiro agree that Naruto's show focuses way too much on him and Sasuke while sidelining the others, or Yusuke calling out Sakura's constant obsession with Sasuke was met with a good lot of agreement with viewers.
    • For those who don't like sexual Fanservice in anime, they had quite a treat when Yusuke called out and gave a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown to a cameraman who tried to force sexual moments from the girls in the Anime House.
  • Continuity Lockout: Given how the series is a Massive Multiplayer Crossover, there are plenty of jokes, moments, and even characters (Due to some costumes not being too indicative of who a character is) that will fly over some viewers' heads or even spoil them if they lack knowledge on a ton of anime, or even the manga if the anime hasn't caught up to it yet. And not just anime and manga, but cartoons too with the Cartoon House showing up as well.
  • Crosses the Line Twice:
    • Vegeta having a Heel–Face Turn and joining the Villain House as a result of being treated like a No-Respect Guy by everyone? Kinda sad, especially if you're a Vegeta fan. The straw that broke the camel's back was Vegeta being pissed off by negative internet comments about him? Pettily hilarious.
    • In Episode 6, the villains managing to defeat and outright kill several of the Anime House's strongest warriors is an increasingly terrifying and shocking moment... But what ends up making one of the defeats hilarious is Frieza barely putting any effort into killing Naruto, landing a One-Hit Kill with a casually said "Death Beam~" as Naruto's powering up, putting down the Seventh Hokage before a fight even begins.
  • Evil Is Cool: Oh very much so. Look into the comments of various episodes, and you'll find plenty of commentators and viewers who really loved the villains and their performances. In particular, Light Yagami for being The Chessmaster to an even greater degree than even his own show, Frieza for being his usual Complete Monster self that sadistically loves breaking his foes in the single episode he appeared in, and Aizen for being a brilliant fighter and his brief Not So Above It All moment celebrating Bleach finally adapting its final arc with the Big Three.
  • Fanfic Fuel: Similarly to the sister series Video Game House, the concept of a ton of anime characters living together in a reality TV-like show was met with various ideas from fans, pondering which anime characters would populate their version of an Anime House, or who could possibly join in on the canon one.
  • He's Just Hiding: Considering the nature of Episode 6's setup with the Anime House being destroyed with numerous heroes still in it by Madara's Planetary Devastation, plenty of fans are theorizing if there were any survivors that either escaped the destruction or weren't at the house at the time, especially with Itachi showing up in The Stinger along with several other anime protagonists. Helping the possibility of survivors is Luffy surviving his seemingly fatal duel with Madara as revealed in the OVA, providing hope that other protagonists could have survived as well.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Light's Imagine Spot of killing everyone via the Death Note in Episode 1 becomes this as one could notice some of the people he targeted (Goku, Vegeta, and Asta) don't have last names he could use (Or in Goku's case he didn't use his full name, Son Goku). In Episode 4, it turns out that Light is unaware he cannot use the Death Note to kill people without a last name, as he finds out with Orochimaru.
    • In Episode 6, Light's ultimate plan is to use the Dragon Balls to wish every Villain to become the "protagonists" of their own shows, and it's explained in the OVA being a protagonist would result in Plot Armor. Cue Light's eventual Oh, Crap! moment when he realizes he screwed up big time in the OVA when Robin pointed out that the former was already a Villain Protagonist in Death Note.
