YMMV / Angolmois

Go To

  • Broken Base: The filter over the animation to make it look like old, crinkled parchment bothers some viewers, while others find it neat.
  • Friendly Fandoms: The anime adaptation began airing literally one month after Ghost of Tsushima was revealed at E3 2018, with both works sharing the same plot about the 1274 Mongol invasion of Tsushima, and both even featuring the main character as an exiled samurai who must turn to guerilla warfare and unconventional tactics to repel the invaders. Some fans consider Angolmois a sort of "prequel" to Ghost, as the series occurs over the first 7 days of the invasion while the video game's reveal trailer at E3 takes place on Day 9 of the invasion.
  • The Scrappy: Princess Teruhi. A combination of creepy stalker traits, a bland Tsundere personality more equipped for a bad harem show than an action series, and general uselessness haven't endeared her to many people. Especially when she's 1 of only 2 main characters to survive the show.
  • Special Effect Failure: The old parchment filter, which is supposed to make the imagery look antique, remains static despite movements in the scene. While it may achieve its intended effect in still shots, looking at the screen for too long will make you feel like watching the entire series through dirty glasses.
