YMMV / Angel S01 E01 "City of"

• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Angel runs into Cordelia at a party. After a brief conversation which ends with Cordelia saying that she has to talk to people who actually are someone, Angel comments "Nice to see that she's grown as a person." Funny at the time, but ironic in light of the vast amount of Character Development she would undergo over the course of the series.
  • Cordelia asks if he's still "Grrr". He says "Yeah...there's not actually a cure for that." He finds out later, in "I Will Remember You", that there actually is.
• Ho Yay: Angel is hit on by almost every character, including a man who claims Angel's "a beautiful beautiful man" and wants to hire him.
• Retroactive Recognition: Josh Holloway (the vampire who tells Angel to "piss off") and Tracy Middendorf both went on to appear on Lost. Holloway plays series regular Sawyer, while Middendorf played Bonnie in Season Three.
• Technology Marches On: Presumably, Angel has gotten some programs from Willow that let him hack the coroner's database and stuff, but it's pretty hilarious to watch him searching the internet using a knock-off webcrawler on netscape.
