- Genius Bonus: Bird loves to drop esoteric references into his lyrics. "Opposite Day" contains a likely allusion to The Metamorphosis, "Imitosis" name-drops Thomas Pynchon and then starts talking about mitosis and osmosis, "Orpheo Looks Back" and "Sisyphus" are themed around Greek mythology, so on and so forth...
- Nightmare Fuel: His lyrics can veer into very dark territory no matter how cheerful the song sounds. One standout example is "Fake Palindromes," which depicts a singles ad that starts innocuously but ends up talking about tying their date's wrists with leather and drilling a tiny hole into their head.
- Signature Song: "Pulaski at Night" and/or "Fake Palindromes."
- Suspiciously Similar Song:
- "Minor Stab" echoes Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher," although this may've been more of an Homage.
- "Imitosis" sounds alarmingly like "Smooth" by Santana, of all things.
- The chorus of "Are You Serious" is vaguely reminiscent of Britney Spears's "Oops!...I Did It Again."
