  • Game-Breaker: Double Attack returns from the first game and is still learned at Wind Level 50. It's strong enough to negate the Sequel Difficulty Spike.
  • Nerf: Dark Curtain was a Game-Breaker in the first game. In this one, it costs 4x as much EP and naturally wears off over time.
  • Sequel Difficulty Spike: The first game is Easier Than Easy. This one is more balanced to prevent the player from just spamming Auto Battle and winning 99% of the encounters, especially against enemies that take very little damage from physical attacks.
  • Tear Jerker: A positive one in the True Ending when Ash and Shion are reunited at last.
  • That One Boss: Jaguar's Last Stand battle: Multiple attacks per turn, capable of inflicting a One-Hit Kill, and constantly buffing himself while debuffing the party.
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: The first battle against Jaguar is the first example of the game's Sequel Difficulty Spike compared to the previous title and teaches the player the necessity of using buffs and debuffs.
