YMMV / Alone in the Dark (2024)

• Genius Bonus: Those who've played the first Gabriel Knight game or otherwise are familiar with voodoo might recognize "Cabrit Sans Cor" (Goat without Horns) as a euphemism for human sacrifice. This provides a big foreshadowing as to the climax of the plot.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Instead of Carnby and Emily exploring the horrors together, both characters have mostly the same route outside of a brief late-game area exclusive to each character with the character you didn't pick just doing mundane exploring off-screen. While it's true the original game did give both characters completely identical scenarios (outside of slightly different examine text in a handful of areas) New Nightmare actually gave Carnby and Aline different campaigns with unique puzzles and routes for both characters and it's a shame to see it not be replicated here where there would even more reason to replay the game.
