YMMV / All Cats Go To Heaven

Go To

  • Iron Woobie: Zach. Like Tiger, he also had to deal with Marvin's death as well as Tiger's episodes.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Tiger. While he already is one in the canon, the fanfic explores his backstory and reveals that he was beaten so badly by other dogs as a pup for his cat name that he was nearly euthanized. He also confides in Zach that he attempted suicide via antifreeze once because of how badly Bino bullied him but Marvin caught him before he could drink it and stopped him. Even if Tiger is responsible for his angry death threats, irritable personality, destroying a studio and cheating at a pie eating contest, there's no denying that he's been through hell and likely has psychological problems as a result from his abuse.
    • Bino has a moment of this when he tears up over Fido disowning him, even if he did cross the Moral Event Horizon by laughing at Tiger for crying about Marvin's death.
  • Moral Event Horizon:
    • Bino crosses this when he openly mocks Tiger for crying over Marvin's death. Even Fido is so disgusted by it that he disowns him as a brother. Bino may have crossed it before when his mistreatment of Tiger nearly led to Tiger attempting suicide.
    • Sasha's father crosses this not when he hits Marvin but when he threatens to harm Sasha when he gets out of jail.
    • Rover and Spike, two mean dogs from Tiger's puppyhood crossed this when they nearly murdered Tiger by throwing him against a wall too hard.
  • Tear Jerker: Every chapter has at least one moment of this.
    • Marvin gets run over and killed in the first chapter
    • The second chapter is about Marvin's funeral. Big things happen in it including Tiger snapping and trying to strangle Bino and Fido disowning Bino for his comments regarding Marvin's death.
    • The third chapter, we are treated to a flashback of Tiger and Marvin as babies. As a puppy, Tiger is an emaciated and constantly crying who has been horribly bullied and Hates Being Touched.
    • The fourth chapter is more nightmare fuel than anything but its hard not to feel bad for Tiger when he mistakes a suited up Joey as Marvin's angel.
    • In the fifth chapter Zach breaks up with Jess after she chooses to bully Tiger.
    • In the sixth chapter, Tiger tearfully opens up to Mungo about the abuse he suffered from other dogs at the pound, including being thrown against a wall so hard he almost had to be put down.
    • In the seventh chapter, Tiger bids a tearful goodbye to Marvin in heaven.
    • In the final chapter, Tiger tells Zach that he attempted suicide once.
  • The Woobie: Poor, poor, poor Tiger. After all he's been through, he absolutely deserves a hug. He was especially one when he was a puppy where he was a terrified, emaciated, friendless, and constantly crying.
