YMMV / Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction

• Demonic Spiders: Predator Stalkers can be this when fighting against them. While their armor is weak, their weapon is quite deadly and has great range. Compounding this fact is, unlike the other ranged fighters of the Predator faction, it's very difficult to tell the exact direction that they are firing from and their cloak lasts twice as long as other Predator units, so they can easily pick off your units from a distance while you become frustrated when you try and fail to find them.
• Game-Breaker: The Predator Hydras and Blazers, unlike their Hunter counterparts, are full-blown military units and pack so much firepower and area of effect damage, they make later levels of the Predator campaign a laughable breeze. The game itself even made an optional objective for the player to not use any Hydras or Blazers for the final hunt.
• That One Level: The third chapter of the Alien campaign. It's where the Aliens first encounter the Predators, who have greater armor and firepower that the Marines that you've been fighting previously; while they give the Aliens access to the PredAlien units, the Predators themselves can be very unforgiving and relentless in their attacks, especially when you have yet to build up a proper defense. Another difficulty is that Oswocs are fairly rare on this map, which means Drones are in short supply; this can be an issue as a lack of upgraded Drones means that you don't have access to the stronger cystic strain of Aliens and that you are also unable to produce hive nodes which provide healing for your units and produce spores that counter Predator cloaking, which can be a problem when dealing with the aforementioned Stalkers.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: One of the lifeforms you can encounter are the scorpion-like Kriltics, however if a Facehugger manages to infect one then it will simply produce a Runner Alien (which already spawn from the wolf-like Kurns) rather than a more insectoid type Alien.
