YMMV / Alien Stage

  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Did Sua and Mizi choose to duet as a way to Face Death with Dignity, or did they try to cheat the system by making sure they each have the same amount of points, so that nobody "won" and thus nobody would be killed, with one opponent just happening to get one extra point on accident?
    • After Round 6, fans are split on whether Ivan was choking Till so that the aliens would execute him in front of Till so that Till can finally notice his feelings, whether he choked Till so ensure that Till would win the round by default, or if he was trying to take Till with him after losing the round so they can be together in death but died before he could finish the job.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Was the Rockers Smash Guitars moment at the end of Round 2 just Till Chewing the Scenery, or him using his guitar to bludgeon his opponent?
  • Applicability: While not quite as deadly in real life, many have compared the way the characters are trained from childhood to be idols and the extremely competitive nature of the show to the harsh conditions Idol Singers are put through.
  • Epileptic Trees: Some fans began to theorize that Ivan has unrequited, potentially Yandere level feelings for Til, based on these official images, which would turn the already established Love Triangle between Sua, Mizi, and Till into a potential Love Dodecahedron.
  • Friendly Fandoms: With Pink Bitch Club, due to both being Animesque series produced by Vivinos.
  • Fridge Brilliance:
    • White is usually the color worn during funeral's in some Asian countries. Sua and Ivan end up dying in their rounds donned in white clothing.
    • Round 2's song name, "Unknown (Till the End...)" may seem somewhat nonsensical, until you consider that based on the music sheets seen in the video, and the brown-haired guy's confused reaction upon hearing it, Till wrote his own song, thereby making the name unknown to anyone but himself.
    • For Round 6 Ivan is not actually trying to hurt Till, merely acting like he's going to try and kill him so Till would win. Once he lets go, there's hardly a mark on Till's neck to indicate any pressure being applied.
  • Funny Moments: Till and Ivan's cover of My Clematis features Till singing his part sounding rather bored, comically contrasting how emotional the original was. It also has Ivan delivering Mizi's monologue entirely straight... while Till doesn't get what he's talking about.
Ivan: They believed that things that cannot be solved by human strength are the will of God. Believed that the entire universe revolved around the earth. Thought that the place that connected with the sky, which they could not dare to reach, was the place where the gods lived.
    Till: That's just ridiculous.
    • This exchange at the end:
Ivan: But if belief in God is human... If all I can do as a human is to believe...
Till: Why are you staring at me?
    Ivan: My God.
    Till: Hey- hey, hey! Wait!
    Ivan: My Universe.
    Till: Ah- go away! AAAH!
  • LGBT Fanbase: Alien Stage, like all of Vivino's works, has attracted a large number of LGBT fans, as well as the expected Yuri fans, due to the positive, yet tragic, portrayal of the lesbian implied main couple Mizi and Sua. Round 6, which confirms Ivan's romantic feelings for Till, boosted the series' popularity among LGBT viewers even further, along with bringing in Yaoi fans.
  • Memetic Mutation: "Doomed Yuri/Yaoi" to refer Mizi/Sua and Till/Ivan, as the other half of each ship died for their love interest.
  • Tear Dryer: As an April Fools' Day joke, some Side-Story Bonus Art was released on the official twitter page (see here), depicting an Alternate Universe where the cast are all Animated Actors. Following the release of Round 6, another post set in the same universe showed Animated Outtakes of the scene where Ivan kisses Till, with a heartwarming moment shared between the actors afterwards, where Till's actor, who is the most experienced out of all of the cast, reassures Ivan's actor that Mistakes Are Not the End of the World.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Due to a misreading of Luka's name as Luisa in the prologue (and Vivinos' history of making mostly female-focused content), some people thought Luka was a girl.
