Accidental Innuendo: Lime's "It's huge" in a confessional. It was a reference to a cave he just found, but a cave's not the only "huge" thing in the world...
Anti-Climax Boss: This could somewhat represent Lavender, as she was tricked by Black, token bombed and got last place in the challenge, all eliminating her at once, this in Episode 16.
The songs made by the contestants in episode 15 count as that, as each one of them could represent their strategies and uniqueness.
While most songs are mostly for background music, "We're Finally Landing" fits in with the Season 1's ending really well.
Canon Defilement: Not exactly due to a fanfic, but there were a few people annoyed by the roleplays.
Continuity Lockout: As this series is inspired by series inspired in series inspired by Total Drama, it has a serialized narrative. Eliminated contestants normally DON'T appear in the game after they lose, and the 2nd season has some callbacks from things that happened in Season 1.
With basically every big Algicosathlon Community, especially NotScotish and Musikoopa (or Dancingfb 18), due to most contestants being active there, or even having a moderator role in their servers.
Most of the ACS fans are also Battle for Dream Island and Total Drama fans, due to the relation between the first ever Algicosathlon and BFDI as sister series, and the inspiration of BFDI being Total Drama, making it the weird uncle of ACS.
Fridge Horror: Navy's past traumas that caused his DID. What happened to him before the camp for him to create Yvan, or even Nave? Only Nivi's circumstances of creation were partially revealed.
Good Bad Translation: There was a whole CHALLENGE playing on the characters translating texts and checking if they were close to what Google Translate says.
Growing the Beard: The first episodes of Season 1 were alright, though not really remarkable. However, by Episode 7, most plotlines were established and the show was reaching the "golden age of ACS".
Harsher in Hindsight: Yvan (one of the villains of the series) is also a Russian name. Now cut out to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Hilarious in Hindsight: A lot of color camps structured the same way as ACS were common in 2021. One of them, ECOC, had the same guy who played Black competing as White.
Jerks Are Worse Than Villains: Black (season 1's Big Bad) is fairly well-liked by the other actors and spectators for being a good villain and doing it for the game. Blue, on the other hand, is hated by nearly everyone from the server, because his jerkish actions caused actual harm for the contestants when they were doing a challenge.
Moral Event Horizon: Yvan attempting to re-do 9/11 was this. And he was defeated quickly, because that crossed the line.
One-Scene Wonder: Glowy in the roleplays. He became so popular that he would be appearing in OTHER projects.
Poor Man's Substitute: Sometimes Navy would substitute characters played by Black in the roleplays.
Quirky Work: The crazier aspects in the show (Navy's brain, and ESPECIALLY the smiledogs) count as this.
So Okay, It's Average: The general consensus for Season 2 is that it's okay, but doesn't have the magic of Season 1.
Suspiciously Similar Song: Lavender's strategy in Episode 15 was to... rip off Pachelbel's Major D Canon. It didn't really work that well and she got 4th place.
