  • Alas, Poor Scrappy:
    • Grace may be a Clingy Jealous Girl that tends to overreact, but her death in the end of Season 6 was a complete Tear Jerker that mixed this with Rescued from the Scrappy Heap for a good number of her detractors.
    • Rubi. Yes, she was a nasty bitch and a Gold Digger, but after some Character Development, she Took a Level in Kindness and grew to love Miguel Ignacio. Shame that at her wedding Claudia blackmailed her to stop the wedding or else she'll kill Rubi's mother and sister.
    • Monserrat may be annoying, but once in a while is sad to see how spitefully Isabella, Reina, and some one-off characters treat her.
  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Some people like Doña Nelly's stern attitude and feel she is a decent person who was hardened by a life that was by no means easy, and just trying to improve her family's economical situation as much as she can. Others hate her for being an opportunistic control freak who often victimizes herself and her family to get away with a lot of things, is unfairly aggressive toward Gilberto, and groomed her own daughter to marry a wealthy man so all of them can get out of poverty.
    • Joel: Mostly between those who like his antics and those who find him entitled and annoying.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Joel's Youtube videos.
  • I Knew It!: At the end of Season 8, Grace is revealed to have survived the car accident.
  • Narm: Tons of it.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Felix was planned to just be a recurrent character in season 2, but his popularity with the viewers made him a staple in the series (being in the series for the rest of it run).
    • Hiro became popular thanks to his Memetic Badass actitude and his Shrinking Violet moments, that and his surprisingly good Japanese.
    • Benito, Franchesca's bodyguard is a minor one, while he didn't last in the series as long as Felix or Hiro, he was still liked by the fanbase in spite of his small role thanks to his nice guy attitude and his animal lover tendencies.
    • Bruno, in a Love to Hate kind of way , he is soo scummy and hammy that people can help but like his scenes. Being played by peruvian fan favorite Rulito pinasco certainly helps.
  • Harsherin Hindsight:
    • Any sweet moment beetween Nicolas and Grace can be this considering that Mayra Couto ( Grace) publicly denounce Andres Wiese (Nicolas) for sexist actitudes and trying to force himself on her, with him responding with a defamation lawsuit toward her citing his acting were way more innocent of what Couto declared. The scandal soured the relationship of good part of the cast because some took sides and now a posible reunion is likely imposible.
  • Memetic Badass
    • Hiro is one if not the biggest one in the series, being , in Isabella and Fernanda´s word "a ninja buttler" and a skilled martial artist.
    • Felix became one once it was revealed that he is a skilled capoeira artist.
  • Love to Hate: Claudia is irredeemable, being a cold hearted manipulator and ruinning lives if that means getting closer to her objetive, but the viewers love her for exactly that and being a huge Knight of Cerebus in a lightharded show as this.

  • Memetic Mutation:Being one of the longest running series in Perú during a time computers and social networks were becomming normal in a lot of peruvian households, theres a ton of them:
    • "Ricolaaaaas" the affective nickname Joel gaves to Nicolas once they started becomming friends around season 2, being a pun of Nicolas and "Rico" spanish for "tasty" and ussualy used in Peru when talking about someone with an attractive body.
    • Most of Joel Song, specially "El rap del gringo atrasador".
    • "Basuuuuuraa"
    • "Really, nobody should get marry in this series"
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
    • For many who saw her as an Affably Evil Manipulative Bitch, Franchesca was redeemed the moment she Took a Level in Kindness in Season 6, becoming nicer to the Gonzales family, befriending a convict who was her friend during her time in prison and more supportive towards Grace and Nicolas relationship.
    • Cayetana, after she becomes a nicer person and even enters into a relationship with Joel. Sure, Joel and Fernanda are Strangled by the Red String and this does not last but fandom prefers this new kind Cayetana and ships Joel/Cayetana more than Joel/Fernanda.
    • Teresa once his annoying and Small Name, Big Ego tendencies were toned down, specially once she started to act like a Cool Big Sister to Grace and Sherley.
  • Rewatch Bonus: If there's one thing the fans can agree on, it's the fact that the show has shown a lot of Foreshadowing moments that might not make much sense when viewers watch the show for the first time.
  • The Scrappy:
    • Cayetana, for being an Alpha Bitch who humiliated Grace in a similarly Carrie's style because she was jealous of Grace's very obvious feelings towards Nicolas. She then Took a Level in Kindness, which Rescued from the Scrappy Heap, but becomes a Yandere towards Joel.
    • Rubi has become one since her first appearance for being a Gold Digger Alpha Bitch and ruining the Grace/Nicolas and dating him for his money.
    • Teresa, for being plain annoying.
    • Aunt Vanessa, who is basically Teresa without her positive traits, taking advantage of men and her own family because it suits her needs.
    • Charo, for being an inconsistent character: one minute, she's the Only Sane Man and the next minute, she's being unreasonable, clingy and breaking up with her boyfriends for little reasons.
    • Lucho became one in the latter season (specially the last one) when his Never My Fault tendencies made him a unsympatethic moron.
    • Milagros, for being a Suspiciously Similar Substitute to Grace and Nicolas's new love interest.
  • Strangled by the Red String: Joel/Fernanda, Grace/Nicolas. Also, Charo/Raul is debatable.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic:
    • The Gonzales. The show seems determined to show them as victims of circumstance. While some of their complaints are legitimate, it is a bit hard to sympathize when most of the things the Maldinis say about them (drug dealing, sexism, acting like Lower-Class Louts) have been shown to be absolutely correct since the first season. The distinct lack of character development for most of them really doesn't help.
      • Joel is easly the Gonzales who get this the most. He start the series as a lazy and unemployed doofus (is also heavily implied that he doesnt really care about music and only wants to be a musician to get rich quickly and be famous),he also feel entitled to Fernanda since meeting her. what is worst is the once Fernanda finally return his feeling ,Joel still act as a wannabe ladiesman and flirts with whoever girl he can and act offended when outed. In latter seasons. is was even show that he in capable of working for the mafia if that gives him quick and easy money. Even with all that, the series almost always try to pass him as a sympathetic and noble romantic.
      • We're supposed to root for Grace after she's humilliated by Cayetana in the party. But as the latter points out, Grace only started dating her brother Gian Franco as a consolation prize, while she still loved Nicolas. Instead, Grace breaks up after admitting she never loved Gian Franco, while Cayetana is sent to a mental institution.
      • In general, most of the time Charo goes on a moral crusade, since she's generally overreacting to minor slights nobody else considers important. She also enables Joel's laziness and is very clingy and demanding with her romantic partners.
    • Miguel Ignacio , specially in the final season, everytime something humiliating happens to him , even if the show tries to portray him as the victim , one cant help but be glad considering all the awful thing he has done by that point of the series.
  • Unpopular Popular Character: Bruno Maldini. By Season 4, basically everybody loathe or tolerated him only to take advantage of his money, being universally hated by the Gonzales and his own family. The fanbase on the other hand loves him for his scummy personality, his hammy and charming actitute and being played by fan favorite actor Rulito Pinnasco.
  • The Woobie: Jhonny, is constantly emotionally abused by his own mother, his sister Shirley is mostly cold toward him, the rest of the Gonzales take advantage of him, and nothing actually seems to go right for the poor guy. The only ones that actually seem to care about him are Gilberto, Manolo and his father Lucho. Making the moment Lucho Becomes a Broken Pedestal for Jhonny in the last season specially harsh. Its a surprise Jhonny is as positive as he is .
    • Kevin, while not as bad as Jhonny, still got it rough. In his own words; his parents never really care or were supportive toward him ; he is a huge butt-Monkey that constantly will end up humillated; His best friend (Joel) takes advantage of him, doesnt really have any distintive skill or dream and seem to be painfully aware of how average and uninteresting he is. On the top hand, unlike Jhonny, he has a loving relationship with Margarita; a stern but loving father figure in Manuel (the local priest) and in the last few season show to be content with his life.
