- Awesome Music:
- "Soul Wars".
- "Sail", most definitely. It's very hard to write a song that has influences of noise rock, dubstep, synthpop and industrial rock all in one, but it was pulled off.
- "Burn It Down", "Not Your Fault", "Wake Up", "THISKIDSNOTALRIGHT" and "Kill Your Heroes".
- Don't forget "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)" and "Run".
- "KOOKSEVERYWHERE!!!"
- Memetic Mutation:
- "Sail" has become very memetic due to a video of a cat falling off a clothes rack once the singer says "SAIL!!!" as the beat drops.
- There's a popular post on tumblr with lots of gifs of people screwing up in infomercials, including a kid pouring a jug of milk all over his face. That's actually from the "Kill Your Heroes" music video.
- "Run" has been used in many Vines.
- Moment of Awesome: "Sail" is the fourth-longest song to stay in the Billboard Hot 100, surpassed only by Glass Animals' "Heat Waves", The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" & Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive".
- Signature Song: "Sail" is their most recognized single and the one with the highest peak on the Hot 100 to say the least.
- Sleeper Hit: Megalithic Symphony, despite initial sales not being brilliant, eventually became greatly popular thanks to strong marketing, acclaimed hits and a loyal fanbase. This goes doubly so for "Sail", which went from an ignored song in 2011 to the second longest song to stay in the Billboard Hot 100 in HISTORY.
- Suspiciously Similar Song: "Sail" has a near-identical staccato intro as Foreigner's "Cold As Ice." Both are even in the same key.
- Tear Jerker: The lyrics to "Sail" are very yearning to say the least. They explicitly mention suicide and the man blaming his problems on his ADD.
