- Awesome Art: The album cover, and all the supplementary art included in the vinyl edition. It's beautiful, abstract, and fits the album perfectly.
- Harsher in Hindsight: The album has become even more of a tear jerker since the premature death of Thom's ex-wife - their separation after some twenty-two years together had been the primary impetus for the album's tone.
- Nightmare Fuel: The outro to "Daydreaming" with the backmasked chanting.
- Paranoia Fuel: "Burn the Witch" is the epitome of this trope!
- Tear Jerker: It's arguably one of Radiohead's saddest albums (maybe even THE saddest) to date, with an overriding sense of melancholy pervading almost every song, and quite a sea change from the more optimistic feel of the past two albums. "Daydreaming", "Glass Eyes", and "True Love Waits" are particularly crushing.
- Win Back the Crowd: After the divisive King of Limbs, A Moon Shaped Pool has received a much more positive reception.
