The doctor will beat you now.

Brittany A. "Britt" Baker (born April 23, 1991) is an American wrestler best known for her work in All Elite Wrestling where she is a 1-time Women's World Champion, as well as a fully-licensed and practicing dentist. After cutting her teeth on the independent circuit, Britt was one of the first female signings in the nascent AEW promotion and one of the central figures of their women's division. Talented, intelligent, and quite sadistic, she won the AEW Women's World Championship for the first time from Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing 2021, eventually dropping the belt to Thunder Rosa in March 2022.

"A role model knows all these tropes!"

  • Alliterative Name: Britt Baker.
  • Arch-Enemy: Thunder Rosa, which came to a head in a lights-out match on the St. Patrick's Day Slam edition of Dynamite.
    • Referee Aubrey Edwards is another major enemy of Britt's (at least in her head) as a major part of the conspiracy against her. Notably in both of Britt's St Patrick's Day Slam losses to Thunder Rosa it was Aubrey who counted the pin.
    • Saraya, after a Face/Heel Double-Turn, which reversed the roles of both, with her being now an Anti Heroic Face and the returning veteran a nasty Heel.
  • Badass Bookworm: The whole "dentist" thing sounds laughable... until you realize it means she can make you tap out by attacking the nerves in your mouth.
  • Beleaguered Assistant: Former TNA Knockout Rebel, who Britt brought in as her personal assistant during the period when she was confined to a wheelchair thanks to a leg injury, and stuck around even after Britt recovered. Britt usually makes her life hell, persistantly calling her "Reba" despite Rebel repeatedly insisting otherwise.
  • Blood Is the New Black: Has worn this in brutal matches for the Women's division.
  • Breakout Character: Unlike with the men's division (which was able to build itself on names like Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Jon Moxley), AEW's women's division had no widely-recognisable wrestling industry names to build on at the startnote , forcing them to try and build their own stars basically from scratch off a mix of indie and joshi wrestlers who very few American fans would be familiar with. Despite her faltering start, Britt eventually emerged as the breakout star from the often-floundering women's division in 2020, with 2021 being the point that she ascended to superstardom off her feud with Thunder Rosa and her eventual championship win over Hikaru Shida.
  • The Cameo: She made an unheralded appearance on WWE NXT at the second Takeover War Games PPV while under contract with AEW; there to support her boyfriend Adam Cole, she was sitting in the crowd when Cole took a massive bump during the main event War Games match which caused her to cover her mouth with her hands in shock, only for the camera to focus on her when the production crew, oblivious to her identity, decided she had the best reaction of anyone in the crowd (with Mauro Ranallo, who did recognise her, calling "That's Adam Cole's girlfriend!"). It became something of a meme, and AEW would later parody it with Britt repeating the exact face when Nyla Rose put a referee through a table during a match.
  • Character Catchphrase: "TBS is The. Britt. Show."
  • Combat Medic: She's a legitimate dentist in addition to her wrestling career. In fact, her wrestling training mostly overlapped with her first year of dental school, and by the time she got her D.M.D. in 2018, she was a three-year veteran of the indy circuit.
  • Deadly Doctor: Putting her dentistry skills to deadly use against her opponent's mouths.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: D.M.D. is the abbreviation of a Latin phrase that translates to "Doctor of Dental Medicine", meaning that in calling herself "Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.", she's calling herself "Doctor Britt Baker, Doctor of Dental Medicine"; therefore she should be addressed as either Dr. Britt Baker, or Britt Baker D.M.D. The fact that she would insist on being called both "Dr." and "D.M.D." after her Face–Heel Turn shows this is another example of her delusion as a heel.
  • Depraved Dentist: As a heel, she's a real-life dentist who as a wrestler targets her opponents' mouths.
  • Doctor Jerk: As a heel she is quite arrogant and abrasive.
  • Evil Cripple: Her Game-Breaking Injury in the go-home show to Double or Nothing 2020 is incorporated into a storyline with her being confined to a wheelchair.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Her inability to get the women's belt turned her very callous and haughty.
  • Finishing Move: Lockjaw, which is a hybrid of the Brutalizer and a Mandible Claw.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Before, she was bitter rivals with Hikaru Shida, even beating Shida to the point where she was unable to wrestle behind closed doors. However, due to both having a grudge against The Outcasts, Britt began to work together with Shida against the faction, the two growing a respect for each other as a result. Afterwards, Britt and Shida started to regularly team-up or accompany each other to the ring.
  • A Hero To Her Hometown: Whenever she's in Pittsburgh, the nearest major city to her hometown of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and also where she went to dental school, regardless of whether or not she's playing a heel. She even refers to her hometown as "Brittsburgh" just to drive the point home.
  • I Am the Noun: "I am the women's division."
  • Insistent Terminology: Her name is Doctor Britt Baker, and don't you forget it.
    • That's Doctor Britt Baker, D.M.D.
  • It's All About Me: Ever since her heel turn, Britt's really become full of herself.
Britt: Thunder Rosa – you should be thanking me every day that you wake up. You should be thanking me because you will forever be remembered now. You got to be a part of the history that I WROTE WITH MY OWN BLOOD! AND THEN YOU… and then you have the audacity to stand here in MY COMPANY, in MY DIVISION, and say that you put the women on the map. Then why is everybody talking about me?
  • Living a Double Life: She's the mild-mannered dentist of a small private practice by day, but by night she's the brutal and talented face of AEW's women's division.
  • Odd Friendship: Despite being a heel, she's known for being good friends with Tony Schiavone, of all people (in something that started with some mistreatment on Baker's part), despite their wrestling personas being as different as night and day. Overlaps with Platonic Life-Partners.
  • Pun: When Britt injured her leg, taking her out of action for months and giving her time to develop her heelish "role model" character, she traveled around on a wheelchair with "ROLL MODEL" stencilled on the back of the seat.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: During her gruesome unsanctioned lights-out match against Thunder Rosa, so much blood had flowed down across Britt's face from where she'd been busted open that her eyes literally turned blood red, but she wasn't even nearly done fighting yet. This image was so instantly iconic that it ended up on her newest T-shirt in a matter of hours.
  • Sophisticated as Hell: She's a highly educated person and it shows in her interviews, but she's not afraid of using vulgar language when pissed.
  • Talk Show with Fists: Hosts "The Waiting Room", which became a regular feature on Dark.
  • Villain in a White Suit: Her wrestling gear is mostly white but this only becomes official after her Face–Heel Turn.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Tony Schiavone. Initially they had an ironic "friendship" based around Britt picking on and bullying Tony, such as mocking the time he was forced to work as a Starbucks barista, but over time their friendship actually solidified into a genuine fondness for each other. When Britt finally won the Women's Championship at Double or Nothing 2021, Tony came on-stage to give her a big hug.
    • Schiavone has since expanded on their relationship in a shoot interview. In short, Adam Cole specifically asked Schiavone to look after Baker on the road (this was well before Cole joined her in AEW). Schiavone described himself as "like her substitute dad on the road".
  • Wrestling Doesn't Pay: Played with. She has an actual dental practice. Matter of fact, her match against Big Swole at All Out 2020 was a cinematic-style match filmed at her real-life office.
