    Season 1
  • "The Pager": Prez cracks the Barksdale's pager code. Omar's associate John Bailey is gunned down by Wee-Bey in retaliation for robbing a stash of theirs earlier, and Brandon is spotted by Wallace and Poot, who inform the Barksdale higher-ups. Brandon's subsequent abduction and murder will have a profound effect on the plot, especially on both Wallace and Omar.
  • "Lessons": One of Orlando's dancers overdoses, gets raped by Wee-Bey, and is unceremoniously dumped, which will lead to Shardene acting as an informant for the Barksdale Detail. Omar, after previously providing information about the Gant case to the police, takes vengeance into his own hands, killing Stinkum and wounding Wee-Bey during an attempted hit on a rival dealer. Stinkum's murder also causes division between the Barksdale Detail and Homicide, after Cole is prevented from making an arrest because it would ruin the Gant case.
  • "Game Day": The Barksdale Detail finally gets a visual on Avon, but he shakes them off, all-the-while knowing exactly who they are. Omar gets his hands on Avon's pager number and attempts to ambush him, but he is foiled and wounded by Wee-Bey. Bubbles, after a risky theft over what turns out to be baking soda, decides to get clean and moves back in with his reluctant sister.
  • "The Cost": Stringer calls off the bounty on Omar, who correctly deduces a forthcoming trap and skips town to New York. Orlando gets busted selling drugs (to the anger of Avon, who needed Orlando to keep his nose clean and business legitimate), and despite hesitation and reluctance from the Barksdale Detail, Burrell forces the detail to use him in a buy/bust operation. However, the Barksdales instead turn this into a trap, killing Orlando and shooting Kima in a case of surprise and mistaken identity, leaving her critically injured.
  • "Cleaning Up": For informing on them, Wallace is killed by Bodie and Poot under Stringer's orders. When news of this reaches D'Angelo, he angrily confronts Stringer about it, leading to D beginning to turn against the gang.

    Season 2
  • "All Prologue": D'Angelo is murdered under orders of Stringer Bell and made to look like a suicide, completely without Avon's knowledge.
  • "Storm Warnings": Ziggy murders Double G after getting ripped off, complicating matters between the Greeks and the Sobotkas immensely.
  • "Bad Dreams": An FBI agent leaks information to the Greek that Frank Sobotka is looking to cooperate with the police, just as Frank approaches him for a meeting.
