Valt is a wonder deer who, along with his five friends, journies to obtain special powers granted by the Five Magical Elements, as well as rescue his trapped parents, the Deer King and Queen from Da-Ming, an evil toatie and the overlord of the Land of Metal.
Valt the Wonder Deernote is a Chinese–American Animated Series that was released to Tencent Video in China on December 31, 2016. The series is produced by DreamEast Pictures and is distributed worldwide by Jetpack Distribution. The second season, subtitled "The Search for Terracotta Warriors" premiered on Tencent on October 22, 2018, and ended November 26. A third season, subtitled "The Legend of the Porcelain Mountain" is in production, retooling the series by featuring new anthropomorphic and angular designs for the characters, and is set to release in 2021.
The English version of the series was broadcast on Propeller TV in the UK for one season around June 2017. Episodes were then released onto Jetpack's YouTube channel on August 24, 2019, but were soon taken down.
Valt the Wonder Deer provides examples of:
- Character in the Logo: Two versions of the logo exist; one that has Valt on a scroll, his antlers forming the shape of the "V" in "Valt" in the series title, and one where the antlers simply adorn the name of the series.
- "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: The theme song in season 2 is from Valt's perspective.
- Instrumental Theme Tune: Season one's theme song is mostly instrumental, with a bunch of grunts from the characters.
- Replaced the Theme Tune: In season one, the theme song was mainly an Instrumental Theme Tune. In season two, it was changed to a "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune from the perspective of Valt, and sounds a whole lot like an Anime Theme Song.
- Retool: Season three is planned to be a complete retooling of Valt the Wonder Deer for marketability purposes. It now features new anthropomorphic and angular designs for the characters.
- Talking Animal: A normality in Valt's world. Talking deers, monkeys, cats, birds, etc...
- Title Theme Tune: The first line of it in season two. "I'm Valt the Wonder Deer..."
