Two brave sisters must come together to reunite two worlds separated by an evil spell.
The Princess Twins of Legendale provides examples of the following tropes:
- Arranged Marriage: King Solter and Queen Dume (Princess Dume at the time) were arranged to be married in order to ensure the unity between day and night, but Solter refused to go through with it because he wanted to Marry for Love.
- Cave Behind the Falls: Kylo lives in a cave behind Vesper Falls.
- Good Princess, Evil Queen: Eve and Dawn as the princesses and Queen Dume, as the queen.
- Go to Your Room!!: Solter yells this to Dawn after they have a fight.
- Identical Twin Mistake: Even though Dawn and Eve aren’t entirely identical, Kylo still mistakes Dawn for Eve when he saves her from Queen Dume’s soldier and Nightbeasts.
- Good-Times Montage: Two of these occur in the film: the first is a montage of Dawn and Eve as infants playing with each other and the second is of Eve and Kylo riding on Kylo’s pegasus, Juniper.
- In the Hood: Princess Dawn wears a cloak with a hood to sneak out of the palace.
- Once Upon a Time: The first words that appear in the movie.
- Separated at Birth: Essentially the premise of the movie. Eve is kidnapped when she and Dawn are babies and the two meet again once they are thrown into the same prison cell.
