The Farm of Tomorrow is a 1954 Tex Avery MGM Cartoon. It is the fourth and final cartoon in Tex Avery's 'Tomorrow' series.

On the Farm of Tomorrow is a menagerie of modern and mechanical inventions along with scientifically improved livestock. By crossing a chicken with an ostrich, one can get bigger drumsticks. A sheep crossed with dachshund gives five more yards of wool, while chickens have been crossed with parrots and slot machines to aid in egg productivity. The possibilities are endless and the Visual Puns are boundless.

Tropes found on the Farm of Tomorrow:

  • Delivery Stork: When combined with a moose, a stork can now carry multiple babies for those expecting large families.
  • Gluttonous Pig: The combination of a kitchen sink with a Hampshire hog.
  • Leg Focus: A lovely calf results from combining a silk worm with a garter snake.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Most of the jokes involve crossbreeding different species. For example, crossing a chicken with an ostrich for bigger drumsticks, a chicken with a centipede for more drumsticks, a duck with a banana so that its feathers peel off easier, and so on.
    • The final gag involves some of the crossbreeding rejects, including a stool pigeon (pigeon with a stool), a ten-foot polecat (a cat with a ten-foot pole) and a hootnanny (an owl with a goat).
  • Pinball Gag: The modern way of sorting eggs by size uses a bagatelle, complete with counters.
  • Polly Wants a Microphone: Crossing a chicken with a parrot gives you a chicken who announces when she lays an egg with "Come and get it!"
  • Pun-Based Creature: The rejects barn at the end is full of them, such as a stool pigeon, a ten-foot polecat and a hootnanny (owl and goat).
  • Smelly Skunk: A machine to detect rotten eggs finds one and sends it down a chute. It cracks open, revealing a tiny skunk inside.
