Let's live wild, the world's our own
We built this wheel now it's gunna roll
You know a spark becomes a fire wherever we go
Whoa-ho-ho
Stuck together, stuck stuck together,
It's an evolution for worse or for better
To find some unity
For all humanity
Because we're stuck together
In one big family tree

The Croods: Family Tree is a 2021 Hulu/Peacock Original series starring the first family The Croods.

Set after the events of A New Age, Family Tree follows the lives of Guy, Eep and the Croods after taking permanent residence in the Bettermans' farm and the many hijinks they get up to.

Unlike the franchise's previous animated series Dawn of the Croods, which was a traditionally animated series, Family Tree is a All-CGI Cartoon in the same vein as other DreamWorks Animation series.

The show ran from September 23, 2021 to November 9, 2023.

The Show Provides Examples of:

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Everything Phil makes is usually impressive, but needlessly complicated or overthought.
  • Balloonacy: Liftberries are balloon-like fruits that are inedible to humans but Eelgles love.
  • Bird People: Downplayed. Crowverines are meant to be a cross between crows and wolverines, but they can move bipedally.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Unlike other DWA shows, Family Tree initially does not introduce any new characters besides the existing roster from A New Age, until Season 5. Even by the end of the series, the show solely focuses on the main cast.
  • Call-Back: A number of "worthless sparkle rocks" from Dawn of the Croods are seen scattered about when Phil and Grug (try to) dig a well.
  • Cranky Neighbor: Due to their differing lifestyles, the Croods and the Bettermans typically butt heads when they disagree on certain issues. This goes double for their punch-monkey neighbors, who are so rowdy and troublesome that they rebuilt the wall just so they could get away from them.
  • Dinosaurs Are Dragons: Ramacondas are reptilian with four limbs, ram horns and they breath fire.
  • Fantastic Fruits and Vegetables: Bounce berries are a fruit harvested in "Sticky Business." They are the size of yoga-balls and leap off of their bushes to bounce when they are ripe. "Harvesting" them boils down to trying to catch them and, while delicious, under-ripe bounce berry juice is as sticky as tar that can be dissolved in water.
  • Men Use Violence, Women Use Communication: Played with; Grug and Phil spend an entire episode trying to trap and remove the Punch Monkeys stealing their food, while their wives suggest simply talking to them. The men fail while the women succeed, but since Punch Monkey language involves hitting, Ugga and Hope just ended up physically confronting them directly instead of trying to trap them.
  • Minimalist Cast: There are no new recurring characters outside of the main cast from the recent movie. Averted in the Season 5 premiere.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: While Phil's inventions and plans are inefficiently overcomplicated, Guy's solutions are both inventive and simple.
  • Sore Loser: While Phil usually wins every game he plays (and is a terrible sport about it), the rare times he ever loses results in him falling into a deep depression, one time lasting for weeks.
  • Uncoffee: Following the movie's "bitter bean juice", Hope is shown partaking of "bitter leaf juice" (tea) to calm herself down.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: In "Game Nightmare", Phil proves to be a very lousy winner, going to great lengths to rig a game in his favor due to his Second Place Is for Losers philosophy.
