Rotzbub (English: Snotty Boy) is an Austrian-German animated film by Marcus H. Rosenmüller and Santiago López Jover from the year 2021. The film is based on the cosmos figure of the cartoonist who died in 2016 Manfred Deix.In September 2021, the film was released at the Zurich Film Festival under the title Welcome to Siegheilkirchen and at the Feira Arte Cinema Leipzig under the title Willkommen in Siegheilkirchen – Der Deix Film.
Snotty Boy contains examples of:
- All-CGI Cartoon: The film is entirely animated in CGI, with an artistic style of grotesque caricature.
- Angry Guard Dog: The bad guys had an ex-cop dog who almost caught the main character when he was spying on them.
- Boob-Based Gag: One of the main features of the film's plot is about breasts, which obviously would not fail to include in the comedy part as well.
- Buxom Beauty Standard: The film has a large presence of women with grotesquely large breasts who are seen as attractive not only by the main character (who spent most of his time drawing drawings with emphasized breasts), but also by almost every other male in the town.
- To the point that several boys in the class bought drawings with explicit big breasts, and soon after one of them was seen jerking off with a drawing in the bathroom.
- Butt-Monkey: The main character, Snotty Boy, easily falls into this trope.
- Experienced Protagonist: Snotty Boy proves himself to be a professional artist right at the beginning of the film, and later starts to become popular in the town when his talent is recognized... but not in a good way, of course.
- Geek Physiques: Spotface, even though he's not a complete nerd, has the exact physique and look of one.
- Fridolin could also fall into this trope, being the fat nerd type.
- Hated by All: Snotty Boy is hated by most adults in the town, mainly because of his gross drawings.
- Limited Wardrobe: All characters are seen wearing the same clothes normally, like most animated films and series.
- Love at First Sight: Snotty Boy with Mariolina at the exact moment he sees her for the first time.
- Momma's Boy: Fridolin is one.
- Nerd Glasses: Fridolin and Spotface wear these.
- Running Gag: "Fuck Me!" by Grasberger always when he is amazed.
- Bartender: Snotty Boy's father, and Poldi, who was formerly a musician.
- Spoiled Brat: Fridolin, again.
- Toilet Humour: With the presence of several gross moments in the film, these would not be left out either, highlighting the scene where one of the bad guys farts in Snotty Boy's face.
