Get Ready for some High Flying Fun!

Santa Bear's High Flying Adventure is an animated sequel to Santa Bear's First Christmas created by Rabbit Ears Productions and Dayton-Hudson Corporation.

The special is basically about Santa Claus' little helper, Santa Bear being sent on a mission to deliver the presents to the people of the South Pole. Unfortunately, Bully Bear, who was formally Santa Claus' little helper, wants to destroy all the presents that Santa Bear is giving to the people of the South Pole and Santa Bear must do everything he can to stop Bully Bear from succeeding in his plan!

Santa Bear's High Flying Adventure provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Missy, who is not only an ace pilot, but was able to break Santa Bear out of jail using her airplane!
  • Bears Are Bad News: Bully Bear is definitely bad news when he tries to destroy all of the presents that Santa Claus tries to give to the people of the South Pole.
  • Big Bad: Bully Bear
  • Christmas Elves: Santa has a houseful of elves that also work alongside Santa Bear.
  • Christmas Special
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Bully Bear decided that because Santa Claus refused to give him all the toys in the workshop and kicked him out, he would destroy all the toys that were being given to the citizens of the South Pole just to see the upset reactions of the people.
  • Evil Twin: Bully Bear is this to Santa Bear.
  • Santa Claus: Voiced by John Malkovich, no less!
  • Saving Christmas: Santa Bear not only has to deliver presents to the South Pole, but he also has to save Christmas from Bully Bear, who attempts to destroy all the presents that Santa Bear was going to give to the people of the South Pole.
  • Team Dad: Santa Claus provides this role for both Santa Bear and the Elves as he treats everyone like his own children, especially Santa Bear.
  • True Meaning of Christmas: In order to tell the difference between Santa Bear and Bully Bear, who look exactly alike at this point, Santa Claus asks both of them what the true meaning of Christmas is. Bully Bear responds that it’s about getting presents, while Santa Bear states that Christmas is about “giving presents, especially the presents you can’t wrap.”
