A hot time in the old town tonight...
Rabbit Every Monday is a Looney Tunes short released in 1951, directed by Friz Freleng.

Bugs Bunny is out in the woods roasting carrots on a rotisserie spit, which attracts the attention of Yosemite Sam, who is out hunting. What follows is the usual shenanigans, as Bugs outwits Sam at every turn, even when it seems he's on the verge of being dinner.

Notable for being the very first cartoon shown on The Bugs Bunny Show, beginning a 40-year network run for the Looney Tunes brand.

"Tropes they are divine, you get a dozen for a dime, it's maaagiiiccc...":

  • Bigger on the Inside:
    • Bugs is able to fit inside the barrel of Sam's shotgun. When Sam empties the gun, Bugs is stuffed inside one of the shells with only his ears protruding.
    • Sam's oven apparently can fit an entire party inside.
  • Born in the Theater: As Sam is tracking Bugs, the silhouette of a movie patron appears walking across the bottom of the screen. Sam threatens to shoot him dead unless he takes his seat, then extends the threat to the rest of the audience if anyone tries to leave to warn Bugs. Of course, since Bugs is Bugs, he doesn’t need anyone to warn him so he can take care of Sam.
  • Bubblegum Popping: As Sam counts to ten before firing, Bugs takes a piece of bubblegum, chews it and sticks it on the end of the barrel. When Sam shoots, he is instantly surrounded by a pink bubble. Bugs blows the bubble with Sam away, and it falls off a cliff. Sam manages to blow the bubble back to the top, but Bugs is waiting there with a pin in his hand...
  • Cooked to Death: Once Sam has gone into his own stove because Bugs convinced him there was a party inside, Bugs closes the door and adds a few more logs to the fire to "warm the party up a little". Confusingly, it then turns out there really is a party inside the stove, so Bugs goes back inside to join the fun.
  • Cooking the Live Meal: Having caught Bugs, Sam forces Bugs to go into his stove to be cooked (which he does, though not without complaining and grumbling). Bugs then acts like there's a party inside the stove and thus convinces Sam to let Bugs out and to go inside himself.
  • Covered in Kisses: Bugs when he comes out of the oven to tell Sam that the "girls" have been asking for him.
  • Everybody Has Standards: Bugs successfully tricks Sam into going inside the oven and starts loading in more firewood. However, he stops after a few logs and realizes he can’t let Sam roast.
  • Everybody Wins: "WHAT A PARTY!!!" Sam shouts from inside the oven. (The live action scene shown inside, which loops into the Gainax Ending described downward, comes from Romance On The High Seas.)
  • Gainax Ending: As Sam has Bugs inside his oven, Bugs keeps getting out, claiming that there's a party inside. Eventually, Sam gets curious and, when Bugs says the ladies have been asking for him, Sam runs inside. Bugs closes the oven door and adds more logs to "heat up the party", but then decides that the joke has gone on long enough and opens the door to let Sam out. To his surprise, there really IS a party inside the oven, and Bugs decides to join in, telling the audience, "I don't ask questions, I just have fun!" Iris Out (with "Auld Lang Syne" playing).
  • Hat Damage: Bugs tosses Sam's hat into the oven...
  • Understatement: After Sam puts him in the oven, Bugs steps out and walks back in with a fan and a bucket of ice, saying as he passes Sam that it's "hot in there."
