Pablo is a British Preschool Show about a five-year-old boy on the autism spectrum. The episodes are initially live-action, but whenever the titular character encounters a problem or something he doesn't understand, the episode transitions to the animated "art world" represented by his drawings, the "Book Animals".
The show is shown on CBeebies and everyone who worked on the show is autistic.
This show is ABSOLUTELY no relation or confused to Pablo the Little Red Fox, although they share their same name, but the title character is a fox, not a human.
Pablo contains examples of:
- Cute Mute: In the live-action segments, Pablo is non-verbal.
- A Dog Named "Dog": Mouse the mouse, Wren the wren, and Llama the llama.
- A Lizard Named "Liz": An orangutan named Tang, a Giraffe named Draff, and a "noasaur" named Noa.
- "Double, Double" Title:
- "Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!"
- "Buzz, Buzz, Buzz"
- "Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye!"
- Motor Mouth: Draff sometimes just can't stop talking.
- Named After Somebody Famous: Pablo has a cousin named Lorna, likely a reference to autism researcher Lorna Wing.
- Picky Eater: Pablo doesn't like it when his foods touch, and he prefers his sandwiches cut into triangles instead of squares.
- Shrinking Violet: Pablo can be very shy around new people or in new places.
- Silly Simian: Tang, the fun-loving Orangutan.
