Jamie's Got Tentacles is a 2009 French animated television series based on the books by Aurore Damant and Julien Bizat, produced by Samka Productions and Top Draw Animation.

Jamie lived a charmed life on the planet Blarb until the day that horrible aliens changed the course of his existence. To save their son, Blurbo III and Blurbina send Jamie to live incognito on Earth. Disguised as a human boy, he must remain undercover. Erwin, Jamie's friend spends most of his time covering for Jamie's intergalactic blunders. The evil aliens have dispatched a robot and a mutant cow to Earth to capture Jamie.

Jamie's Got Tropes!:

  • Absurdly High-Stakes Game: In "I Bet You The World", Jamie's father loses planet Blarb to the Vlok General in a card game.
  • Aerith and Bob: Names on the planet Blarb include Blurbo III and Blarbina, and Jamie and Josette.
  • Alien Prince: Jamie is the alien prince of Planet Blarb, and resembles a squid with green skin and four eyes when out of his human disguise. He came to Earth to hide out from the Vloks, an extra-terrestrial race that eats princes.
  • Animal Gender-Bender: Sergeant Gratchett is a male cow, but has an udder and can be milked. Then again, he is an alien cow, so who knows what the rules are for his species.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Erwin's younger sister Praline hates him (as well as Jamie). She sometimes plans to get both Jamie and Erwin out of the house.
  • Batman in My Basement: Erwin brings Jamie, an exiled Alien Prince, into his family home; telling his parents Jamie was his foreign pen pal.
  • Bizarre Gambling Winnings: In "I Bet You The World", Jamie's father loses planet Blarb to the Vlok General in a card game.
  • Breath Weapon: Jamie breathes out fire in a few episodes, like in "The Invaders From Planet Earth" and "Unhappy Campers".
  • Cannot Tell a Lie: Blarbs don't lie or even pretend. This is why Jamie sometimes doesn't understand some things Erwin says or does.
  • Cassandra Truth: Mr and Mrs Walsh never believe their daughter Praline's claims that Jamie is an alien.
  • Chameleon Camouflage: Jamie can use this power to blend in with the walls, which he uses to play hide and seek in "Erwin Is An Alien".
  • Costumes Change Your Size: Jamie looks much like a squid except he has dark green skin, four oval eyes and at least seven tentacles. His disguise makes him look like a human boy in a stripy orange and yellow t-shirt and red shorts.
  • Dub Name Change: In the original French version, Erwin and his sister Praline are named Nerdy and Paraffine respectively. Jamie's name is the same in both versions.
  • Eye Beams: Jamie has the ability to shoot lasers from his eyes as seen in a few episodes including "The Attack Of The Mutant Mosquitos" and "Eye Contact 2.0".
  • For Halloween, I Am Going as Myself: In "Tentacle Man", Jamie takes off his costume and pretends to be Tentacle Man—a character from a comic book—at Mitch's comic store. This proves to be popular.
  • Gender Bender: In "Princess Jamie", after Jamie is engaged to the Nostrax Princess, he decides to become a girl so that he can't marry her!
  • Impossibly Delicious Food: In "Royal Snot", when Erwin makes a cake and Jamie sneezes on it, it becomes delicious and the townsfolk become addicted. If they eat too much, they might explode!
  • Incredible Shrinking Man: When Jamie is scared, he shrinks a bit. The more scared he is, the more he shrinks. This is shown quite a lot in "No Peas For Jamie" where he thinks that green peas are terrible aliens called Muggles who have come to destroy Earth. In the end, Erwin scares him so much by pulling faces that he shrinks to a size that nobody can see him at.
  • Interspecies Romance: Erwin develops a crush on Jamie's cousin Josette, and she seems to likes Erwin back. she is ultimately revealed to be the Vlok aide in disguise (but still an alien).
  • Lactating Male: Sergeant Gratchett is a male cow, but has an udder and can be milked. Then again, he is an alien cow, so who knows what the rules are for his species.
  • Not Quite Flight: Jamie can learn how not to shrink when he is scared and swallow his fear, but as a side effect, he can uncontrollably levitate the objects around him including himself.
  • Octopoid Aliens: When not wearing his human disguise, Jamie looks much like a squid with dark green skin, four oval eyes and at least seven tentacles.
  • Rubber Man: Jamie can stretch out his tentacles, even when he's still in disguise, to make it seem like he is simply stretching his limbs.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Jamie can talk with animals such as ants, fish, and probably all animals. He can also talk to and understand plants.
  • Status Quo Is God: In one episode, the Big Bad's Beleaguered Assistant leads a rebellion against him. After the General's aide successfully defeats and vaporizes him, the aide puts on his old boss's hat, puts on the same voice, promotes himself to General, declares that he has the exact same evil plan as the previous General (to capture and eat Jamie) and immediately gains an aide of his own. All members of their species are completely identical, so absolutely nothing changed.
  • Superhero Episode: In "Super", Jamie wants to use his powers to become a superhero but he soon understands that it is harder than it looks.
  • Telepathy: Jamie first reads a mind in "Girls Are From Mars and Boys Belong on the Moon". It seems that he reads minds with little to no effort. He can also send messages with his mind, as shown first in "Artificial Intelligence".
  • Wild Teen Party: In "Biggest Bash in the Universe", Jamie discovers the idea of a party and invites 8 million aliens to Erwin's house.
