Title Card for Dragons: Rescue Riders

Dragons: Rescue Riders is a spin-off series, aimed at younger kids, that is a part of the DreamWorks Dragons franchise. Its first season was released on Netflix on September 27, 2019.

Dragons: Rescue Riders provides examples of:

  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Leyla is a great singer, which Dak mentions in the special, Secrets of the Songwing, and Leyla's signing is heard through the two songs she sings, with the second song being the one where Leyla uses her singing to break the hypnotic spell that Melodia put on people and dragons.
  • Denser and Wackier: No surprise given the younger target demographic.
  • Dragon Rider: Dak and Leyla.
  • Evolving Credits: Aggro is not seen in the credits until episode 4, where she first appears.
  • Lighter and Softer: Intended as a more child-friendly addition to the franchise and goes hand in hand with Denser and Wackier as mentioned above.
  • Musical Episode: Secrets of the Songwing.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Leyla and Dak.
  • Tempting Fate: In "Sick Day" with Burple already with the Dreaded Dragon Flu and things already not so good, Cutter says things can't get any worse. Cue Burple at that moment to start uncontrollably shooting rocks out of his mouth about the Light House, forcing everyone to take cover.
    • On top of that things get MUCH worse, with Aggro, Winger, and Cutter catching the very contagious Dragon Flu overnight, and all of them shooting fireballs, blasts, rocks, or spikes when sneezing.
