Get ready to explore, like never before.

Dora (as the title says) is a 2024 animated musical preschool television series and a reboot of Nickelodeon's hit Dora the Explorer television series. It was created by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh Valdes. The show follows the ongoing adventures of Dora (voiced by Diana Zermeño) and Boots (Asher Spence) as they go on epic adventures while exploring through a magical rainforest. Guided by their trustworthy Map (Anairis Quiñones), Dora and her friends must overcome puzzle-packed obstacles while also having to deal with Swiper (Marc Weiner). Of course, she'll need help from the viewers once again to save the day. A short film to introduce the show, Dora and the Fantastical Creatures was released on September 29, 2023 alongside PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.

The series debuted on Paramount+ (or Nick Jr. where available) on April 12, 2024.

Dora contains examples of:

  • All-CGI Cartoon: This series is animated in CGI as opposed to the original series' traditional cel animation.
  • Birthday Episode:
    • "Tres Leches Trouble", focuses on Benny's abuela's birthday as part of the episode's plot.
    • "Swiper's Birthday Surprise" is also this, focusing entirely on Swiper literally ruining his birthday.
  • Denser and Wackier: Not as evident as most examples, but the series is a bit more comedic than its predecessor, having moments such as Boots smacking face-first into the camera in Dora and the Fantastical Creatures, a Record Needle Scratch being heard when Swiper first appears in "The Magic Nut", Swiper being attacked by clams in "Crabby Boots" and hurting his teeth after taking a bite out of the piñata in "Piñata Party".
  • Don't Wake the Sleeper: In "Crabby Boots", Dora, Boots and the hermit crab come upon Swiper at the beach, who is sleeping on a beach chair surrounded by clams. They manage to get past him by digging a tunnel into the sand under him, but he wakes up anyway after Boots celebrates a bit too exuberantly and causes the clams to snap loudly.
  • Gender Flip: Map was originally male in the original show as well as Dora and Friends: Into the City! and Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Here, Map is now a female.
  • Quarter Hour Short: For the first time ever in the franchise, each episode comprises of a Two Shorts format with 11-minute segments, which are shown individually on Paramount+.
  • Subverted Catchphrase: When Swiper slips on the nuts while carrying the cake in "Tres Leches Trouble", he says "Oh... nuts!".
  • Swiper, No Swiping!: Carrying over from its predecessor, this is once again the usual way to stop Swiper.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Swiper is one of the people waiting in line to order an empanada in "Wanna Empanada?".
  • You Don't Look Like You: In the original series, the Fiesta Trio consisted of a frog, a grasshopper, and a snail. While the frog still remains, the grasshopper and snail have been replaced by a marmoset and an armadillo.
