De Avonturen van Varkentje Rund (or simply Varkentje Rund) is a series of short cartoons by Michiel Hoving that were initially made in 2005 as part of Het Klokhuis, and have continued to be produced to this day.

It follows the (mis)adventures of an anthropomorphic pig named Varkentje Rund. Major secondary characters include his vast family, Greetje, his girlfriend who has a tendency to angrily yell Rund's name when something goes awry, even if he's not exactly the catalyst for the cause, and his friend Leo, a fly who often tries to help him when the situation calls for it.

Tropes include:

  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: The official German dub changes the titular protagonist's name from Rund to Rind, which closely resembles the original one.
  • Funny Animals: Most of the animal characters are capable of human speech and actions, and always seen standing on two legs.
  • Gratuitous English: In "Tanken in de lucht" (Refueling in the Air), Rund says "Leo, time to eat" before he feeds him the excrement from the plane in English.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Rund, who's a pig, is friends with Leo, a fly.
  • Protagonist Title: The name of the show is named after Rund, the main protagonist of most of the episodes.
  • Stock Footage: A scene from "Fris" (Fresh) – the 2nd episode of the series – in which Rund is running on the sidewalk against a fence backdrop, only to eventually stop when he spots Leo, was reused in quite a few subsequent episodes.
  • Say My Name: Greetje often angrily and loudly shouts Rund's name whenever he gets involved in something that goes awry.
  • Toilet Humour: One short has Rund accidentally saving the world from aliens that are draining oxygen from the atmosphere by farting into their vaccuum. This causes the aliens to start thinking that the atmosphere has expired, causing them to leave earth.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Greetje, Rund's girlfriend, always speaks with an uncharacteristically deep and masculine voice.
