Sylestia's Logo.
Sylestia is a free RPG Breeding Sim, created by Taylor B. (known on-site as Krinadon) and Brittany W. (known as Faiona), similar to Flight Rising except without the sole focus on dragons and with a more focused storyline. It currently has 22 pet species (called "Sylestis", with many of them having gone through revamps (or are planned to be revamped in the future). The storyline is also added onto in frequent updates.

The main storyline is you appear in Sylestia and create your starter pet in the generator, then you're off to save Sylestia from such Mooks as bandits, mushrooms, other Sylestis and zombies.

Sylestia is currently in Beta.

You have found Tropes. What do you wish to do?

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: Jinxie's Jamboree and Fall Festival, although the latter was probably unintentional.
  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Exaggerated. All Sylestis can have any of their genes any color (due to use of hex codes versus preset colors). This results in most wild, non-themed Sylestis looking... horrible. Often Lampshaded by users in the forums. Heck, there's even a thread about finding the ugliest ones!
  • And Your Reward Is Clothes: One of your first quest rewards, and is often rewarded for either your avatar or armor for your Sylestis (although it doesn't appear physically on the latter).
  • Art Evolution: Sylestis receive revamps, and avatars also received a couple of updates (the last, happening in late 2021, updated the hair). On the Sylesti bit, compare old Zolnixi design with the new.
  • Big Bad: Lord Talon until you actually beat him. note
  • Booby Trap: Crates and chests have a chance at being this, shooting darts at you, while one of your Sylestis in the party take most of the darts.
  • Cap: Level cap is 75 as of 2021.
  • Chekhov's Gun: You know all those carvings of Sylestis/empty chests in the Nightfall Bandits Fungeon? The number of each is used as a code on the final door of the dungeon.
  • Color-Coded Elements: The powers your Sylestis can have are elemental and are colored as followed: Shadow is purple, fire is red, wind is grey, water is blue, earth is brown, and light is yellow.
  • Digital Avatar: The main face of users on the website. It cam be decorated with clothes you earn from quests or other sources.
  • Gold Is Yellow: The icon indictating gold amount is a couple of yellow coins.
  • Green Hills Zone: Viridian Meadows, the first zone of the game, is well known for its grassy plains.
  • Holiday Mode: The seasonal festivals, as well as other, smaller events, such as a small event around 4th of July.
  • Informed Attribute: The height of Sylestis. On the battle screen, they all appear the same size (exluding the ones that look like hatchlings, of course), but they all differ in size, as noted (visualy) by a user here (based on given canon heights).
  • Microtransactions: Diamonds can be purchased, which can be used to purchase in-game obejcts, such as more room for pets. Oddly, there is a specific place to trade gold for diamonds (the rate usually hovers around 2000 gold for 1 diamond). Said place is called the Currency Exchange.
  • Non-Lethal K.O.: Played straight for Sylestis, averted for the bosses. When your Sylesti runs out of health, they are merely knocked unconscious. Enemies that aren't Sylestis, on the other hand, actually die. Including Lord Talon at the end of the dungeon.
  • Punctuation Shaker: The Sylesti species Ny'vene is a downplayed variant.
  • Take Your Time: Most quests do not have a time limit.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Lord Talon implies this in his Last Words.
  • Video Game Caring Potential: You can feed a stranger's Sylestis, help the various towns you visit by doing missions, buy Sylestis from abandoned accounts...
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: Or you can leave them there, starve your own pets to unconscious (your Party doesn't need food), have your Party dig up a bomb and knock them all unconscious, force a level 1 pet against a level 75, and have pets go on missions that they are not prepared for (and will fail).
  • Whale Egg: Every female Sylesti lays eggs.
