Objection.lol is a video-making website that allows people to make conversations in the format of Ace Attorney debates. The website was created by Twitter user HappySylveon in April of 2019. The next year it went viral with several Web Videos being made with the format by multiple different people. YouTube is where most of said videos are uploaded to. Most of them are adaptations of real conversations on Discord, Twitter, and Tumblr.
Objection.lol also allows users to make cases, which are essentially playable custom levels for Ace Attorney.
Objection.lol creations with their own pages:
- Ace Attorney according to an AI
- French Baguette Intelligence
- Dumb Lawyer Quotes IRL but in Ace Attorney
Videos made with objection.lol provide examples of:
- Argument of Contradictions: A less extreme example is Sharks are Smooth argument from Twitter but it's Ace Attorney, where Phoenix insists shark skin is smooth repeatedly as his argument, with everyone else insisting he is wrong repeatedly.
- Expert in Underwater Basket Weaving: A clip from Objection.lol is a giftnote has someone asking nine people what they plan to major in. Only one person (Edgeworth) gave an actual degree (criminal justice and psychology). Three people said Minecraft. Apollo says he scared of getting one. The remaining answers are "Respecting women", "bat man", "fuckin weed", and "W".
- Musical Episode:
- Phoenix Wright - Ain't Got Rhythm is an adaptation of "Ain't Got Rhythm" from Phineas and Ferb.
- Real Life Writes the Plot:
- Many videos are simply adaptations of real online conversations.
- The Dumb Lawyer Quotes IRL but in Ace Attorney series (like the name implies) is a compilation of real courtroom quotes in the objection.lol format.
- that one really dumb bodybuilding forum argument but it's in ace attorney is an adaptation of a real debate on the bodybuilding.com forums from 2008.
- Sidetracked by the Analogy: The Warrior Cats Ranking System Debate starts off with the idea of modeling our government on the ranking system from Warrior Cats. It then goes out of hand as people start asking about how every facet of society could be analogized to Warrior Cats.
