Players can adopt pets and trade pets with other players.Every month, new pets are released, including dogs/wolves, horses/ponies, cats, butterfly wolves, rodents, and various other species. New pets are also released during holiday events, and during an annual event with a random theme.
Players can also get pets and items from the store, usually with their Premium Currency Chicken Dollars, although some are free. They may also obtain pets and items from the pound and lost and found.
Each pet has one of eleven rarities: OMG So Common, Extremely Common, Very Common, Common, Uncommon, Very Uncommon, Extremely Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare, Extremely Rare, and OMG So Rare. New pets don't receive rarities until the mid-month update. Pets on inactive accounts are not factored into rarity calculation.

- Holiday Mode: The site has multiple themes players can switch between, with some of them being holiday-themed. During holidays, Chicken Smoothie temporarily switches to the corresponding theme for everyone, although people can still switch to another theme.
- Non-Indicative Name: Chicken Smoothie has nothing to do with chicken smoothies.
- Premium Currency: Chicken Smoothie's only currency is their premium currency, Chicken Dollars, which players can only get via buying it with real money or trading for it.
