"The five of us can take over this city in our own! Am I right? ... Am I right?"

The Odd Bricks is a web original Lego Comic made by Spencer Overbay. The Web Comic began in November, 11, 2013 and is currently continuing on a loose, one comic a day schedule. The premise of the story is that five of the "worst criminals in the world" try desperately to make names for themselves as super villains. However, if they continue to be lead by Lord Vice, that won't happen any time soon. The story is driven by the group's leader, Lord Vice, as his fellow villains follow his questionable instructions.

Tropes

  • Accidental Hero: Everyone thinks that Lord Vice and his band of villains are actually heroes because they accidentally thwarted a robbery.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: All the time!
  • Creator Cameo: On November, 23, 2013, Spencer showed up in Lego form to explain that he couldn't make a comic that day because the season four premier of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic was "too damn important."
  • Crossover Punchline: Some humor comes from comparing themselves to other comic books.
  • Evil Versus Evil: The Odd Bricks' rivalry with The Suits.
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: The story is often interrupted by random, "special comics" that have little to do with the plot.
  • Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy: It's hard to believe that four guys with machine guns couldn't hit five people from a few meters away.
  • Meta Fiction: The fourth wall was broken as early as the seventh page when characters commented on the new design of the pages. Since then, they have insulted set designs and even had Creator Cameos.
  • Sliding Scale of Fourth Wall Hardness
  • Stylistic Suck: They aren't even trying with those photoshop effects. (Justified by the one comic a day schedule).
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Mega Pig and Noface are much more reasonable than their allies. Played For Laughs Because they are incapable of speaking.
  • Take That!: Within the first five pages, Marvel Comics was insulted twice (once insulting the quality of the Daredevil movie from 2003, and a second time pointing out how often they "rip off" DC). Note that the comic insults itself far more then other works.
  • Who Writes This Crap?!: Characters insult the series' lazy set design and editing, basically meaning that they're insulting their own comic.
