Tropes
- Aborted Arc: The zombies in his Halloween special.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Jared's Charizard was on the receiving end of one as it was defeated in one hit from Vulpidgleon's Fly.
- Election Day Comic: The kidnapping of President Obama by the Syentest led to this. However, the election was called off after Obama managed to escape.
- Face–Heel Turn: Jared chokes his best friend Ash, and pushes him down a volcano for ruining his chance to catch a Magmar. However it turns out that this betrayal occurred because Jared was "zapped with an evil ray" by the Syentest prior to this.
- Fictional Political Party: Lt. Surge ran in the U.S presidential election on the "Kanto Pokemon League Party" ticket.
- Jerkass: Our two heroes have many moments of this.
- Jared once tricked Ash into thinking he was giving him $100 as a belated birthday gift, only for it to be Monopoly Money as an April Fool's joke. It's worse when you consider that Jared is quite wealthy, and that he already forgot Ash's birthday prior to this douchey prank.
- Ash has ordered his Pikachu to electrocute his teacher for giving him too much homework. The teacher did not survive.
- Jared also used his Charizard's Roar to scare a clown that was hired for Ash's birthday party, to the point that the clown peed himself and ran home. Lucky for Jared, Ash didn't seem to notice. If he had, that would be two birthdays ruined in a row.
- To be fair, Ash and Jared are supposed to be best friends and Ash doesn't even know about Jared's fear of clowns? What a bad friend!
- During his bid for the U.S. presidency, Jared proved he isn't above firing staff for arbitrary reasons.
- Karma Houdini: Despite committing murder on a regular basis, Ash and Jared almost never face consequences. The one time Jared did face consequences (for killing Ash of all people) was undone by a time-travelling Mukkey the Muk.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Happens only once. Moments after murdering Ash, Jared is found by a police officer who then shoots him without bothering to try to arrest first.
- Mood Whiplash: The entire fic is censored to the point of censoring "crap", and suddenly the death of the grintch involves getting strangled and getting a gravestone with "HE STOLE CHRISTMAS AND I AM GLAD HE DIED" on it.
- Plucky Comic Relief: Mukkey the Muk is stated to be this, with such gems as "I think his feet smell rely bad to, and i am a muk who smells very bad so i know what bad smells are, and he smells rely bad".
- Science Is Bad: The "EVIL SYENTEST" is a great example of the evils of science.
- Self-Duplication: The comic features two Joe Bidens.
- Turncoat: Harry Reid crosses the floor and becomes a Republican prior to the presidential election.
- Very Special Comic: Blazeing Man has made a comic dedicated to his grandma.
