Sally & Bean is a comedic fantasy webcomic by Ari Stocrate, beginning publication on Webtoon Canvas in 2021.

Sally, a perpetually tired witch, must deal with the antics of her mischievous pet dragon Bean.

Stocrate also traditionally published Bean The Stretchy Dragon: A Sally & Bean Adventure, a stand-alone (though set in the Sally & Bean universe) graphic novel aimed at children.

Sally & Bean provides examples of:

  • Afraid of Doctors: Bean hates being taken to the vet, to the point where Sally has to drag her there. Bean comes around after the vet gives her neck scratches.
  • Braids of Action: Sally's mother, Rosti, has an ankle-length braid, which doesn't stop her from kicking plenty of butt.
  • Can Not Tell A Lie: Unicorns can't lie, which is played for laughs when Piper is forced to be honest with Sally about the fact that Sally is skin and bones.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Bean commonly sports a beaming grin from ear to ear that exposes her many sharp teeth.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: While falling on hard times, Sally passes off garlic as mandrake, reminiscent of oregano or coriander being sold as weed. There also isn't any legal recourse, because she's a witch living in the woods.
  • Eye of Newt: Sally uses dragon's teeth in a potion, and she mentions that her Healing Potion needs dragon's tongue.
  • Friendly Zombie: Jebediah Smith, a zombie, is a friendly old man that loves to play chess.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: Sally keeps a pair of goggles on top of her hat, but we rarely see her actually put them on. It is implied that she uses them while flying on her broomstick.
  • Half-Breed Discrimination: As a half-magician half-Troll, Sally is ostracized by both groups and lives by herself in the forest.
  • Human Snowball: Bean manages to trap Sally in one while they are building a snowman.
  • Line-of-Sight Name: Sally named Bean because Bean jumped straight into and ate a whole can of baked beans when she first hatched.
  • Magic Wand: Sally uses a wand to concentrate her magic, though she is perfectly capable of doing magic without it.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Sally's mother is a tall, buff, and tough Troll princess, while her husband is a short scholar who prefers to wait on the sidelines.
  • Miniature Senior Citizens: Sally's father is half her height. Justified because he was just that short when he was young too.
  • Nothing but Skin and Bones: Sally is noted to be incredibly skinny in-universe, and is drawn considerably thinner than most of the other female characters.
  • Obsessed with Food: Bean is constantly thinking about baked beans, her namesake.Lampshaded by Sally, who says that she has "never seen an animal so food driven".
  • Precision F-Strike: Sally, who rarely curses, lets out an f-bomb after she realizes that Bean released a homicidal fairy from his cage.
That fairy is a fucking psycho!!
  • Sorry to Interrupt: Sally walks into the vet's office to ask her a question just as she is examining a pregnant unicorn, and Sally awkwardly shuts the door and leaves.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Noticeably averted with Bean. Bean is drawn to look gender-neutral, so many people both in-universe and out assume that she is male.
  • Utility Magic: Sally knows a spell that can make ill-fitting clothing the correct size, saving her a lot of money and effort clothing a stretchy dragon.
  • Wicked Witch: Subverted with Sally, who despite having a large nose, black witch's attire, and green skin, is neither good nor evil and just prefers to be by herself. Her green skin is justified as her being part-Troll.
