Webcomic / Meems And Feefs

Go To

Meems and Feefs is a semi-autobiographical Web Comic drawn by Siberian Lizard, about life with her pets, especially the ferrets Meemoo and Feefoo.

This webcomic contains examples of:

  • Animals Lack Attributes: Downplayed. The ferrets are portrayed with small 'x' shaped anuses.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: Lampshaded. In the comic "I Wonder..." Liza and the ferrets are thinking out loud to themselves. Feefoo wonders what it's like to fly, Liza wonders what it's like to sleep all day, and Meemoo wonders what human flesh tastes like. After a Beat, Meemoo says this:
Meemoo: "What? I thought we were all sharing!"
  • Cats Are Superior: Zuzya is endlessly fascinated by her own reflection and walks away when Liza comes into view. There's also a dose of Catsnakes Are Superior, with Meems the ferret's attitude of smugness and habit of referring to humans as "lesser creatures".
  • Cute Little Fangs: Only Meems' are always visible, but all the ferrets have them.
  • Dogs Are Dumb: Shmeebs doesn't talk and seems fairly oblivious to what's going on around him. It's unclear if this is because he's non-sapient, because he's stupid, or because he's only a baby.
  • Exact Words: Liza makes Feefs promise not to jump from the top of his cage again, and he promptly jumps from the top of the curtains.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Feefs will happily chow down on rotting meat and not even notice.
  • Fearless Fool: Feefs literally has to ask what "afraid" means and will casually launch himself from high places or investigate electrical devices with his teeth if Liza doesn't stop him.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: The ferrets' obligatory carnivorous diet is referenced a lot in slightly unnerving ways.
  • Hypocritical Humor: In "Inconsiderate...", Zuzya yells at the ferrets for playing too loudly while she's sleeping, only to constantly meow outside of Liza's door that night.
  • Idiot Hair: Liza is always drawn with one lock of hair sticking up on top of her head.
  • Kindly Vet: Their vet is very understanding about Feefoo turning out to not actually be injured and tells Liza to bring them in any time she's worried.
  • Life Embellished: The pets can talk and the ferrets have a whole underground secret society, and Liza owns them all at the same time and lets them interact. In real life Marmalade the rat passed away long before she got the ferrets and it would be a terrible idea to let ferrets near a pet rat. Meemoo is also still alive in-comic, having passed away after several strips were drawn.
  • Precious Puppy: Shmeeb is a very fluffy big-eyed puppy who invokes pity from Liza by sucking on objects, which she finds out might be a sign his mother rejected him.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: The noodly ferrets, rotund rat, and fluffy puppy definitely fall into this category.
  • Sapient Pet: The two male ferrets and the cat can all hold down a conversation, though it's not clear if the dog and the rat can. Keeko hasn't spoken yet, but she's a baby.
  • The End of the World as We Know It: Played for Laughs in the comic "What's Inside Area 51," in which ferrets with eye lasers are freed from Area 51, causing the downfall of humanity.
  • Wicked Weasel: Downplayed; all of them are troublemakers, but none of them are evil. Meems in particular is sneaky and snarky, and prone to inconveniencing or biting Liza for fun.
  • Weasel Mascot: The ferrets, of course.
  • You Dirty Rat!: Averted: Marmalade is a cute pet.
