Light and Dark (often abbreviated as LND) is a Web Comic created by R.O. "TACOBERTO" Guttierrez and illustrated by Luis "Poneh Anon" Garcia. Set in an alternate world where the bizarre and paranormal are commonplace, the plot centers around an agent of an international police force named Amy Druvmenski, who is sent to watch over a young girl named Miranda Hale in the crime-ridden city of New Hadden, where she encounters a quirky cast of individuals with strange powers.

This comic provides examples of:

  • Alien Sky: The world of LND is not Earth, or at least is an alternate version of it, as evidenced the two moons in its sky.
  • Conveniently Interrupted Document: A document shown on the first page appears to be a profile on Amy, but has some names and other information redacted, as well as the majority of the paper being torn off and missing.
  • Detachment Combat: In Chapter 2, Amy uses Ashley's detached head as a weapon and throws at one of the thugs attacking them.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Ashley barely pays any attention to Amy's scolding after falling in love with her.
  • Fantastic Racism: The Katsas are often subject to prejudice, stereotyped as being criminals.
  • Fish People: There appears to be a race of fish-like people.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: Quite a common occurrence for Ashley.
  • Little Bit Beastly: The Katsas, a race of Cat Folk.
  • Losing Your Head: Ashley has the ability to detach segments of her body, especially the head.
  • Mutant: The LND world is home to "Freaks", humans born with odd abilities.
  • Place Worse Than Death: New Hadden.
  • Pulling Themselves Together: Ashley at the beginning of Chapter 4 after she fell apart during the fight in Chapter 3.
  • Queer Romance: Ashley's romantic attraction to Amy, though this relationship seems one-sided for now.
  • Retro Universe: The comic has a slight 80s vibe to it.
