Haunted Ties
is a Danny Phantom webcomic by TKdoodles77 on DeviantArt. It opens with Danny assaulting the G.I.W. base to free some captive ghosts, and during the process, he finds a mysterious baby. Said baby turns out to be his clone/daughter. The first comic can be found here.
This work contains examples of:
- Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Danny doesn't have any human confidantes in this universe, which causes him to become more and more isolated from the human side of his life. While he becomes closer to some ghosts in exchange, eventually he just runs away from Amity entirely.
- Age Lift: Dani/Ellie is canonically a preteen physically due to Vlad artificially aging her after he created her. The Guys in White are the ones who make her in this universe, so she's still physically an infant.
- Alternate Universe: Danny is alone during his accident, deciding to keep his powers a secret even from Sam and Tucker. After a while, he decides to leave Amity entirely.
- Ambiguously Brown: Danny's exact ethnicity in this story has yet to be confirmed, though there have been hints.
- For Want Of A Nail: The main alteration to the story begins with the portal accident. In this version of events, Danny gains his powers while he's alone, and none of the human characters learn about them. These changes push him closer to a number of the ghosts, allowing him to befriend them but causing him much more stress on the human side of things in exchange.
- Race Lift: As a nod to how Phantom's skin is darker than Danny's in the cartoon, Danny's considerably darker-skinned here. A later comic confirms that he and Jazz are mixed-race, with Maddie also being noticeably darker in this universe.
