Dreamwalker is a webcomic created by Magikfire. Originally a canvas story, it became a Webtoon Original in 2023.

The story follows an unnamed boy, referred to in-universe as "Spider," as he comes into conflict with monsters from the Nightmare Realm after they steal the soul of his best friend, Tori. To get her back, he joins a legion of warriors known as the "Dreamwalkers," who travel to worlds where others dream to save them from the Nightmares.

Not to be confused with the trope of the same name.

This webcomic contains examples of:

  • Ambiguously Evil: She may be the one leading the Dreamwalkers, but Life can be downright terrifying when crossed, and later reveals that she created the Nightmares. Most Magicborns abandon her upon hearing this story, so she is very slow to trust.
  • Bad with the Bone: Marrow's whole shtick. He can use them as weapons or form armor from them.
  • Berserk Button: For Riven, this seems to be any mention of Crimson. When some spectators watch his fight with Spider, he isn't happy when they say he might be stronger than Crimson.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Life and Death's...er, lives, were miserable to say the least. Life watched as her friends passed away, and Death was lonely as she only had dead souls as company. While they become happier after swapping roles, Death wasn't ready to watch her friends perish and resorted to making many of them immortal. Since nobody was dying, Life would soon cease to exist, so she drew power from the dead souls' regrets and changed them into Nightmares. Then she forces Death to swap roles again, creating the current conflict.
  • Instant Expert: Spider becomes one of these when the Dreamwalkers try to teach him certain skills, much to their chagrin.
  • Magical Barefooter: All magicborns go barefoot. Silvia states this is because blocking hands or feet would disturb mana flow. To avoid suffering Agony of the Feet, they can enhance their feet so they don't get hurt when walking on dangerous terrain.
  • Maker of Monsters: Life is revealed to be this in backstory, creating Nightmares to counter Death's goal of creating Immortals.
  • No Name Given: So far, Spider's real name hasn't been revealed. And none of the Dreamwalkers care to learn it, as calling their real names would cause a force that powers them up. The only person who knows Spider's real name is Tori, and it's blurred every time she says it. She even mentions that he hates the nickname "Spider."
  • Older Than They Look: Shortly after Spider joins the Dreamwalkers, Silvia is revealed to be an immortal.
  • Plot-Triggering Death: Not necessarily a "death." But the plot kicks off when Tori's soul is devoured by a Nightmare. Despite his comrades insisting that Tori is dead, Spider refuses to believe this and goes after her.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Typically, Nightmares are incapable of speech. This is why the Reapers are caught off-guard when Little Nightmare, the one that consumed Tori's soul, is suddenly speaking (Hulk Speak, but speech nonetheless).
  • Winds of Destiny, Change!: This is what Luck's abilities boil down to. He's known for showing up at big events and jinxing people involved. He's so feared that Life and Death avoid him if they can.
