A choose your own adventure webcomic.
Death By Choice
is an interactive webcomic. However, unlike most interactive webcomics, every reader gets to make their own plot choices using an interface similar to Choose Your Own Adventure.
The plot starts off simple: The reader, a detective, finds a dead body on the ground and has to crack the case. The story then becomes more and more complex and weird as shocking secrets about World War 2 are revealed.
Provides examples of:
- Alternate Timeline: Lots of them.
- Amateur Sleuth: The protagonist.
- Gamebooks: The format of this comic.
- Gory Discretion Shot: The scene where the murder victim is beaten up, shot and stabbed is shown offscreen. However, a bit of blood is shown tricking into the screen area.
- Half the Man He Used to Be: In one ending, the main character is snapped in half by a dinosaur. Tragic.
- Plot Twist: The protagonist's neighbor turns out to be a certain very unfamous political figure.
- Present Tense Narrative: The entire comic is written in present tense.
- Second-Person Narration: The entire comic is written in second person.
