"The real strength comes from the heart!!"
Cara

A Luta Contra os Fentisseiros ("The Fight Against the Manginsians" [Yeah it's a typo]) is a Brazillian Web Comic. It was one of many comics that the author used to make as a child, one day he found this comic that only had half of a page made, then she decided to continue it abusing the shonen genre in a World of Ham where even a single move is made over the top.It start off with a prologue with two mortal enemies, Cara (Dude) and Fentisseiro (Mangisian[Magician, in case you couldn't tell]) are facing each other, Fentisseiro seems to have the advantage thanks to an Artifact of Doom, but Cara manages to win the fight because he knows that the true power lies within the heart. Then the story cuts to a timeskip of 50 years and we're introduced to two new characters, Guria (Gal/Broad) and Mulher (Woman) and then the story follow short arcs:

  • Fentisseiro's Arc: 50 years later Fentisseiro ascended to a God thanks to the Artifact of Doom, however he's being hunted by Guria who's a mercenary under cover who uses an alligator as a weapon that's been following his trail for 10 years, she fights against his clone that kidnapped Mulher to his space castle, after the fight she gets overpowered by the real Fentisseiro but she's saved by Cara, now a tough old man who's trying to warn Fentisseiro that he's got no chance against Guria because he still don't know where the true power comes from, he gets his ass kicked by Cara and Guria.

  • Vilão's Arc: Guria and Mulher are now living together and they became a couple, some of Guria's power's been carrying over to Mulher because of their contact, Guria decides to go to Jaboatão dos Guararapes to get her payment for stopping the Fentisseiro, but before that they're attacked by a grunt who's been sent by Vilão (Villain) who's been exiled in Mangaratiba by one of the three Gods who created the Artifact of Doom thanks to the Fentisseiro who used to be his partner, now he seeks revenge to get him out of the position of God of Earth and take it for himself.

  • Tournament Arc: Guria enters in a coma thanks to her fight against Vilão but quickly recovers from it, however she's lost her powers. Then Cara is threated by his dead wife's father to enter the same tournment he made 50 years ago that resulted in the death of his daughter, otherwise he would drop the sun into the city. Cara makes Guria and Mulher accompany him because the plot would go wherever he goes, Fentisseiro joins them with the hope of finding in them the answer to what the true power is. However this tournment is also a scheme by the three Gods to kill the lasts mercenaries alive.

A Luta Contra os Fentisseiros provides examples of:

  • A God Am I: Every God, with the exception of Vilão, seems really proud of it's godhood.
  • Angst: Mulher thinks that everything bad happening to Guria is her fault, it get worse after Senhora's apparent death.
  • Art Evolution
  • Attention Whore: How Doida became a God.
  • Author Appeal: The Tournament Arc reflects the author's taste for YYH.
  • Author Avatar: Vilão.
  • Badass Normal: Cara is the only one who doesn't have any powers, yet he can still mop the floor with everyone... At the same time.
  • BFS: Guria and Mulher manages to summon one that can be seen from outerspace.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • Cara. He loves it. He even lampshades it whenever he senses it!
    • However every main character pulled it at least once, first done by Cara on chapter 4 to save Guria, then we have a string on the second arc with Fentisseiro pulling one to save cara on chapter 9, who's saved by Mulher on chapter 10 that's saved on that same chapter by Guria. Cara does it again on chapter 20 and Guria once again on chapter 22.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: There's a open fight about who's the main character, also they keep saying something about the author, like her laziness to draw a background.
  • Break His Heart to Save Him: Mulher's sollution for her Guilt Complex.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Guria loses her powers after waking up from a coma, this doesn't stop her from being awesome.
  • Bullet Catch: Guria catches one with her mouth.
  • Character Development: Fentisseiro gets over with his A God Am I attitude.
  • Damsel in Distress: Mulher can easily be kidnapped, except on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Devoted to You: Mulher is Guria's reason for living.
  • Dream Within a Dream: Averted: Mulher ends up dreaming that Guria is actually looking like a woman, only to find a woman-looking Guria in front of her eyes, then she goes back to sleep thinking it's another dream.
  • Expendable Clone: Fentisseiro's clone
  • Foreshadowing: At the start of the Tournament Arc, Guria mentions that Cara's explanation about the situation is rushed and think something is going on, and that maybe someone would end up being killed or maybe that it's revealed that Mulher could be Cara's lost granddaughter... ....
  • Glowing Eyes: The mercenaries powers are represented by that, Mulher only has one permanent glowing eyes, but the second one glows when she activate her powers.
  • Hates Being Alone: Guria.
  • Headbutting Heroes: Cara and Fentisseiro.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Quite literally, as Cara states to Fentisseiro in their dialogues.

  • Improbable Age: At the age of 10 Guria was already a One-Man Army in the police force.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Guria uses a alligator, Senhora uses a duck and Cabrão uses a iron hair sticker.
  • Large Ham: Most characters, but especially Cara.
  • Love at First Sight: Averted: Guria got a dislike against Mulher for ignoring her Engaging Conversation at first sight, however she falls again after talking to her.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Cara is Mulher's grandfather
  • Moment Killer: Subverted: Their tender moments are constantly being photo bombed, or some character watches and comment about it, but they just don't care.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Mulher
  • Never Gets Drunk: Senhora, after years of training in the way of alcohol, Fentisseiro however... Not so much
  • No Name Given: Subverted as their names ARE the vocatives they're called as!
  • Not Just a Tournament: The Tournament Arc is actually a publicity stunt by Macaco so the world can see the power of his stickmen enhancement formula and sell it to the NBA.
  • Not So Stoic: Fentisseiro gets wrapped in anger whenever he's defeated by Cara.
  • Recurring Character: Bujururu appears at least once per arc.
  • Rule of Cool: Animals are used as weapons, they travel from place to place in space sharks and Ufos, mounts in dinossaurs and the list goes on.
  • Running Gag: Guria and Mulher keeps denying being a lesbian, saying the other one is.
