"You could be out playing with your friends, going on dates, volunteering... and my son's down here playing with trains."
turtlesandthomas's Day Off

The Thomas Wooden Railway Community is a section of YouTube made up of over one hundred former and active users who make Web Videos dedicated to the Thomas Wooden Railway brand, a merchandising branch of the Thomas & Friends series. The most prominent type of videos made by users within the community are their own Thomas Wooden Railway stories using the items and reviews. The users' videos build off of and interact with each other, giving the community a sense of continuity and togetherness.

The community's name is often abbreviated to The TWRC or The TWR Community.

The TWRC provides examples of:

  • Beware the Quiet Ones: turtlesandthomas almost always follows up his silence with an extremely blistering remark.
  • Bizarro Universe: MPS and Eric's characters "Nega-Matt" and "Nega-Eric" are opposite versions of them, who love horrible items.
  • Call-Back: In Vinnie and Robert's crossover, Vinnie greenscreens himself into Robert's room. This joke is later reused in MPS and Vinnie's meet-up, and then reused again in Robert and Eric's meet-up.
  • Captain Obvious: turtlesandthomas's impression of Ted:
turtles: [impersonating Ted] And he's Mike, and his name is Mike, and he's got a tender, and he's red, and he's got wheels, and his name is Mike...
  • Credits Gag: In MilkTankerMedia's episode The Twilight's Last Gleaming, he lists MPS as the Caterer, turtles as the Makeup Designer, ThomasWoodenRailway as the Key Grip, and EnterprisingEngine93 as the Vice President of Puns in the credits.
  • Expecting Someone Taller:
    • EnterprisingEngine93, as it turns out, is rather short.
    • Totally inverted with Eric and turtlesandthomas, who look short on screen but are actually gigantic.
  • Mundane Fantastic: Despite living in the normal world, turtles has a portal to Sodor itself, MPS has a highly advanced AI with missile capabilities, and EricPierre53 has a TARDIS, among other fantastical elements.
  • Nonindicative Name: Several examples.
    • HiroTheJapaneseTrain isn't actually a huge fan of Hiro.
    • MPS, formerly known as MrMPS2002, wasn't born in 2002.
    • LegoLover117 doesn't use Legos all that much.
    • turtlesandthomas does nothing involving or relating to turtles in any real capacity.
  • One-Steve Limit: Completely averted; there are more people named Matt in the community than can be counted.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname:
    • ThomasWoodenRailway, Percyno6, and turtlesandthomas are the most blatant examples.
    • Inverted with WRR, who goes almost exclusively by "Rob" or "Robert".
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: In MPS's crossover, he is the Red Oni (hyper, in-your-face) while the other user is the Blue Oni (straight man to his antics).
  • Sensory Abuse: WRR shouts just about everything in his livestreams.
  • Spell My Name With An S: turtlesandthomas has often complained about all the different ways his username has been butchered.
  • Verbal Tic: A lot of the users have these.
    • Percyno6 has a distinctive Wisconsin accent that is often mocked.
    • Eric tends to say "dude" quite a bit.
    • MPS says "Pretty good" or "Real good" a lot.
    • In the earlier days of his series, ThomasWoodenRailway had a tendency to use the word "disastrous" quite often.
  • Wanting Is Better Than Having: A lot people talk about really wanting the Troublesome Brakevan and the White Face Troublesome Truck, but the users who own them often say that they're cool items, but rather unremarkable.

Can I have your Troublesome Brakevan?
