The Odgrub Series Is a series of Let's Plays made in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, by 3kliksphilip.

The series centers on Odgrub, an overpowered character Philip made in Skyrim by abusing the game's Alchemy, Enchanting, and Smithing abilities to make his armor and weapons as powerful as possible, and follows Odgrub, and his trusty companion Lydia, as they travel across Skyrim, facing various challenges, and slaughtering countless innocents along the way.

There are currently four videos in the series:

  • Odgrub 1 - 7 Year Anniversary: Made to celebrate Skyrim's 7th anniversary, the video mainly serves as a guide on attaining the same overpowered character, besides the odd mass slaughter.
  • Odgrub 2 - Legendary Difficulty: Odgrub decides to test his skills in the game's hardest difficulty settings, forcing him to upgrade his other skills to remain on the top.
  • Odgrub 3 - The Ebony Warrior: Seven years after the second video, the episode sees Odgrub try to beat the game's main questline, all while battling a mysterious figure from his past.
  • Odrub 4 - A Glimmer Of Hope: Seemingly set in an Alternate Timeline where the events of the third episode are All Just a Dream, the episode sees Odgrub attempting to atone for his mistakes.

There are also a series of "Making-of" Videos created by Phillip detailing the creation processes for episodes two, three, and four.

The Series contains the following examples:

  • Book Ends: The third episode both begins and ends with a visit to the Greybeards, and showing how Op they are as they toss around the strongest warriors, whether that be Odgrub, or the Ebony Warrior.
  • Back from the Dead:
    • After ending the first video by jumping off the Throat of the World, Odgrub returns alive and well in the second with no explanation.
    • In the third video, Odgrub is killed by the Ebony Warrior and sent to Sovengarde. As he was in the middle of a Heel–Face Turn at the time, he was not to pleased by it and promptly slaughters everyone there, getting him banished back to the real world.
  • Hidden Depths: Although Odgrub mainly defaults to solving all his problems by hitting them, he does have a few moments that show he may not be as dumb as he appears.
    • According to Phillip, it was Odgrub himself who came up with the exploit to make himself overpowered, during their first playthrough.
Phillip: I'm going to tell you how Odgrub and I did it, back in 2011. I mean, don't ask me how he though it up. It's not like he's the smartest soul in Skyrim.

    • In the third episode, after realizing that he cant beat The Ebony Warrior in a fight, he instead outsmart him by leading him into an endless battle with the Greybeards.
  • Legacy Character: This Odgrub is known as Odgrub the Second, after Philips original Skyrim character, who first discovered the trick he used to become overpowered.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: The battle against The Ebony Warrior in the third video ends with the reveal that he and Odgrub are brothers.
  • Musicalis Interruptus: In the second video, a guard commenting about being threatened by Odgrub approaching with his weapon drawn is almost enough to send him into a murderous rampage, complete with the Skyrim theme starting for split second, before cutting off when he calms down.
  • Off with His Head!: In the second episode, Odgrub gains the "Savage Strike" perk, and promptly goes on a nearly TWO MINUTE LONG decapitation spree.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story:
    • In the first video, Odgrub travels across the map searching for a specific set of jewelry to enchant, even though he could achieve the same result with any jewelry set. Then, it turns out that Lydia had them in her pocket the entire time.
    • In the third video, Odgrub finishes the main questline in order to get to Sovengarde and reunite with Lydia, only to remember that he had bound her soul to a pair of gauntlets and thrown them off the mountainside.
    • In the fourth video, Odgrub comes up with a convoluted plan to literally rob the Thieves Guild blind, after seemingly losing all his possessions, only to discover that no one wants to buy them from him. Then, Lydia arrives with all of his possessions anyway.
  • Shout-Out: The series includes many references to other film trilogies, usually The Lord of the Rings, or The Dark Knight Trilogy
