"It's like a rollercoaster!"

Hailing from New Zealand, RadicalSoda is the host of his self-titled Mid-Review Sketch Show, which combines both informative looks at various games, and an energetic use of Rapid-Fire Comedy. He is a massive fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, and the franchise makes up the bulk of his content.

It should be noted that his mascot, Poppy, graces his title cards, and though sometimes sharing a hair style, the two are distinct entities.

Tropes:

  • Art Shift: The host segments of Looney Tunes: Back in Action are animated, as Soda was unable to use his camera at the time.
  • Achievements in Ignorance: Not only did Bear Grylls make a Nether Portal without a diamond pickaxe, but without the knowledge that diamonds existed at all.
  • Artifact Name: Bear Grylls in his initial appearances was a parody of, well, Bear Grylls. Nowadays he's more just a Denser and Wackier version of RadicalSoda.
  • Author Appeal: Sonic The Hedgehog.
  • Bait-and-Switch: When Soda finally checks out Bear Grylls' first Minecraft server, he finds a house made of dirt with the bare essentials that makes his own look impressive. When he climbs out, he sees the extravagant mansion Bear has moved onto.
  • Better than a Bare Bulb: Soda isn't afraid to admit when he's screwed up while he’s screwing up,
  • Caustic Critic: Averted. Soda gushes and criticizes at will, and has enjoyed a number of games that are mostly bad.
  • Drop-In Character:
  • Faux Horrific: Garfield's Spooky Scavenger Hunt leaves him hiding in a box.
  • Mid-Review Sketch Show: His bread and butter. Expect Bear Grylls to show up every once in a while.
  • Multi-Part Episode: Sonic: Lost World and Sonic Unleashed are both split into multiple parts, the former ending up over an hour long as a result. His review of Pokémon Sword and Shield also counts, being ten minutes shy of four hours long when put together.
    • His Sonic Colors Ultimate review can also be added to the list.
  • Rapid-Fire Comedy: The jokes come quickly and in rapid succession, sometimes even interrupting each other.
  • Running Gag:
    • Sonic is bound to turn up even when he has nothing to do with the review subject.
    • Anything game where you need to turn a crank will trigger flashbacks of a particular puzzle from The Incredibles game.
  • Self-Deprecation: In the beginning of his Sonic the Hedgehog Hacks video, he refers to himself as "Desperate JonTron Clone 47."
  • Series Mascot: Poppy, a beautiful young woman baring a vague resemblance to Soda himself, usually on the Title-Cards, cosplaying something from the review.
