Tyler James Ronford, known to others as TJ, seems like an average Joe working for an animatronic restaurant. But between his unusually rowdy workplace and finding common ground with another co-worker, TJ will find his own inner darkness.
‘’Night of the Hare’’ contains the following tropes.
- Bad Boss: TJ refers to his boss as Mr Greasebag in his own thoughts.
- Death of a Child: When Tyler was a child, his infant brother died of an illness which caused his father to leave the family; later in the story, when he told his mother what happened at his job at Freddy's (he was tricked into killing a child), Tyler’s mother revealed the truth that he killed his brother and suppressed his memory of the event, and his father left the family to get away from Tyler.
- Good Old Ways: The narrator lamented when Freddy’s was an organization that, while not perfect, at least had character and identity.
- Post-Support Regret: Tyler had a strained relationship with his mother, who let him live rent-free at her house while he got a job at Freddy’s restaurant. Later, in the story where, she confronts him on his weird behavior, and he reveals the truth that a killer is after him after being tricked into killing a child; she reveals that she knew he had the potential to be a killer, revealing that he killed his baby brother and that he suppressed memory and that’s why his father left the family. Tyler’s mother admits that she regretted covering for him and not listening to his father and decided to turn him in, but Tyler accidentally killed her before she could do that.
