My Dumb Academia (My Hero Academia Abridged) is an Abridged Series version of My Hero Academia made by PSWeasel and The Schmuck Squad. It can be found here.

It follows the overall plot of the original story, but taken to the comedic extreme!

My Dumb Academia provides examples of:

  • Accent Adaptation: Considering Izuku is voiced by the very Slavic PSWeasel, this version of Izuku has a bit of accent.
  • Adaptational Badass: In canon it took Midoriya ten months to clear out the beach full of trash, here it only takes him half a day.
  • Adaptational Dumbass: All Might is a tad dumber than his canonical self.
  • Adaptational Name Change: One For All is called "Strength-Strength".
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • In this version, Bakugou doesn't even want to be a hero to begin with. He enrolls in UA just to spite Izuku.
    • All Might, full stop with a hint of crazy.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Shoto Todoroki, after delivering a speech to a villain that he has captive about how he's lived in a "do or die" world, demonstrates to said villain about what happens to people who "don't" in his world. And unlike the other examples, this is played much darker than the rest.
  • Ax-Crazy: Thirteen is noticeably more bloodthirsty in this version. Being VERY eager to take on the invading League Of Villains and pulverise them with her quirk. Not to mention implying she has hidden evidence using her "Black Hole" quirk of anyone having died in her Danger Park. To top it off, Uraraka explicitly refers to her as "The High Body Count Hero".
  • Barbaric Bully: In this version, Bakugo is very... open about his willingness to murder Midoriya.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Uraraka thinks this is happening between Izuku and Bakugou.
  • Brain Bleach: Any meeting with Recovery Girl causes this for Izuku.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Uraraka tends to do this from time to time.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander:
    • Iida in this version is this in full force. Complete with his propensity to speak and exposit at lightning fast speeds, Insane Troll Logic, No Indoor Voice, and odd manner of calling people's names (i.e. Go, of the Bak's). He, at one point, believed Bakugo never existed simply because he left the room.
    • While it's overshadowed by his Ax-Crazy and Barbaric Bully tendencies, Bakugo also shows shades of this. Mainly because he initially believed Midoriya was able to read his mind and attempted to throw him off by thinking of Midoriya as a donut.
    • And then there's Shigaraki, who demands to know why Aizawa calls himself "Eraser Head" since his head isn't made of rubber, calls the Nomu "Mr. Happy Funtime", and mistakes All Might for Papa John despite the fact that All Might announced himself as All Might.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: Both the boyfriend and girlfriend on the beach wants to smooch All-Might.
  • Exact Words: Kurogiri seems to largely operate by doing exactly what Shigaraki says. For example, Shigaraki orders Kurogiri to "get" the students. When appearing in front of them, Kurogiri explains that he plans to simply teleport all the students out of danger, due to Shigaraki not explicitly ordering him to kill them. However, when directly ordered to kill them, he also begrudgingly abides by teleporting as many students as he can at once to different areas where villains are.
  • Flashback Fail: When Izuku saves Uraraka, he has a flashback to when she saved him from tripping over himself with some... Minor variations.
Flashback!Uraraka: Blood everywhere, on my shoes, on your shoes. It'd be awful. You know what else would be awful? If you let me get killed by a giant robot. That wouldn't be very neat. By the way, I think your mind is broken and you might do something stupid. Also, you're HOT.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Uraraka lets out a quiet "Darn it" when informed she killed hundreds of people when her baseball collided with a jet.
  • The Jeeves: Dressed in a nice suit, unfailingly polite even to the enemy, indulgent of his boss despite his downright unfathomable thought process. Fits Kurogiri to a T.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite Bakugo's Adaptational Villainy, he still actually thanks Midoriya when he talks him out of giving up.
  • Shout-Out: The chameleon villain that tries sneaking up on Bakugo has a voice near identical to Peter Griffin's. Even made more apparent during his last words.
Chameleon Villain: Please sir, let me live! I have an imaginary family I just made up! You wouldn't hurt a Family Guy, would ya? (First note of the Family Guy intro plays)
  • The Straight Man: At least when pitted against All Might, this is what Aizawa is. Especially when calling All Might out on his needless stalking of his class.
Aizawa: You could have literally come up to us and gone "Hi, I'm a teacher here, I'm gonna stand here and watch" and we would have been like "Alright".
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Close enough to this trope when All-Might tells Izuku to run from a couple that saw them.
All-Might: Now run my boy! Run like you're running from the cops that want to smooch you!
    Izuku: That's really specific.
All-Might: YOU DON'T KNOW MY LIFE!
  • Take That!: The first episode has a scene where the doctor has a fakeout pretending that Deku has ass cancer, referencing a common criticism of Joyride's My Hero Abridged, where the same scene is presented as the doctor revealing the Deku has colon cancer due to being fisted by Bakugou.
  • The Tape Knew You Would Say That: The acceptance letter from All-Might knew that Izuku would have insulted him.
“DON’T TALK BACK TO PRE-RECORDED ALL MIGHT!”
  • That's an Order!: After Shigaraki has spent several minutes doing nothing but blurt nonsense and talk about teleporting the children into the sun, Kurogiri is just about to teleport Class 1-A to safety. Until Shigaraki jumps back in and tells Kurogiri to teleport them into the sun. And makes it an order. Kurogiri complies.
  • What Is This Feeling?: When Midoriya calls out All Might for forcibly giving him One For All/Strength-Strength, All Might responds by saying "Ow. I think my chest area is hurting. That hasn't happened in a while."
  • With Due Respect: Despite being clearly annoyed with Shigaraki's antics and Insane Troll Logic, Kurogiri never explicitly tells him when he's being stupid or downright inane. Though he is very clearly unhappy about it.
  • Would Hurt a Child: While Kurogiri appears to generally prefer avoiding hurting children, he's also certainly got no real reason to want to stop if he's already begun.
